I agree with this. Almost every single claim in this movie is total horse dung.

A plant “based” diet is healthy for MOST people, as long as they eat animal products as well. There are plenty of people who are intolerant to many vegetables. A plant ONLY diet is just malnutrition. What game changers doesn’t advertise is that in order to thrive on a vegan diet one must put in a ton of effort and time into meal planning, watching nutrients, protein, etc. almost nobody has the time or patience to do that. The average person might survive on a vegan diet, but they will not thrive.

The first society in that article is India.

They choose not to eat beef for religous reasons. India is also one of the most unhealthy populations with some of the highest rates of type 2 diabetes in the world.

Interesting discussion. I tried a vegetarian diet in my early 20’s, but after a couple months I developed digestive issues. Too much fiber maybe?

25 years later my wife goes on a vegetarian diet, which means I basically have to do so as well. I still ate meat, just nowhere near as often. This lasted for several months. I noticed I felt great, better than ever and with more energy. But as soon as my wife couldn’t handle the temptation of a juicy burger, we both quit and went back to our meat eating ways.

Anyway, I saw part of the “Game Changer” on Netflix a couple weeks ago. Very interesting, especially when seeing the athletes and that strong man competitor. I’d like to see the whole thing next time and find out more.

There's some truth to this. Planning/prepping/cooking was the hardest thing for sustainability. I ended out creating an entire spreadsheet of foods to plan complete proteins and nutrients in the right amounts. Ultimately I had to get vegan meal replacements and protein powders from Garden of Life as a supplement to finish out the 30 days. That being said, plant only is not malnutrition unless you're doing it wrong. And the average person absolutely can thrive on it.

I have family members that are vegetarian and have been for over 40 years. They use plant based protein supplements in addition to other high protein plant bits. They are a bit weird but have replicated a few times.

Me, I happily lived on pizza, burgers, beer, BBQ, and wings until I was 50 and it all came crashing down.
You know what most people in the U.S.of A. die from? Health issues resulting from a fatty liver.

For sure. If we look at geographics we know that depending on the area, people thrived on meat, fish, and/or vegetation. We as a whole do not thrive on meat.

It was meant to be dramatic. It was totally unscientific and proved nothing.

carbohydrates are turned into triglycerides by the liver and pumped into your blood.

Your body is also making more cholesterol than you could ever eat.

So who cares what color the blood is after eating meat. Your body is going to pump all that stuff through it anyways. Just takes longer

Everyone has to judge how they personally feel after eating whatever diet, but the facts don’t lie, what I stated is correct.

Vegan diets might lose weight, but the average person going on a vegan diet will be losing muscle mass as well. Long term there are not many examples of vegans being able to increase their athleticism or gain muscle strength. Outliers exist, but that is not the average

Meat and veggie combo is where it’s at!!!!
Never tried going vegetarian. I haven’t had a need or desire to. I have tried no sugar and no grains. Extremely hard. I don’t think I would be able to feel full with no meat. It’s the main ingredient in everything I eat now.

Def don’t discriminate against those that are vegetarian or vegan. Everyone has their reasons.

    TEXAS!
you asked, and i'm too old to hold back / be embarrassed bout my experience.

tried vegetarian for 6 months, about 10 year ago; never took a better dump after removing meat from my diet. felt great too; more energy.

but, i missed meat (steaks, bacon, chops, venison, pheasant) like no ones business...

today... i'll happily blow some "green apple splatters" after a thick, juicy, garlic buttered, lemon peppered fillet (cooked rare of course), in exchange for all the veggies any day of the week.

you can keep those nasty ass brusselsprouts and kale!

no more vegetarian or vegan here... where's the beef?! ...and au gratin potatoes with extra cheese, please!

not even a salad included in today's sunday / monday / tuesday / wednesday / thursday / friday / saturday dinner!

might drop dead tomorrow, but i'm living today!

    Flux capacitor!
I also watched that on Netflix last month and found it very interesting. The studies showing how gladiators and athletes in earlier times had diets based on mainly plants based food was surprising! Don't get me wrong I love a good steak but I did start to question what I’ve been raised to know after watching that Netflix show. I’ve been strongly considering trying the vegan based diet for 30 days to see how it affects my life and health.

Yup! Vegetables can be fine, but thousands of people have proven that you don’t need vegetables to live.

The vegan lie is a strong one. They are good at pulling at emotions. Rather than go vegan, just cut out all packaged food for 30 days. You’ll get the same benefits.

And the point of the gladiators eating grains was ridiculous. I wouldn’t want to promote my diet by proclaiming “see what this slave class from ancient time ate!” Gladiators ate grains to fatten up. They did not want to be lean. They needed some cushion to defend against knife cuts. We feed grains to cattle just to fatten them up. Same same
