Can’t go wrong scrambling a few eggs and throwing it in a tortilla with some cheese and salsa. takes about 5 minutes and the fat and protein keep you full!

Our goto quick meal is French dips. You slap some roast beef on a French roll, dip it in au jus. Sometimes we get fancy and toast the bread.

I usually use the buckwheat (soba) noodles from an Asian grocery store in town. I have used chinese noodles a few times and they work well. As a last resort, I have used the ramen kit noodles... just the noodles. For meat, I have used smoked pork belly and pulled pork butt that I smoke here. The wife prefers sliced chicken breast in hers.

When the stuff gets shipped to you, there is no english instructions on the packets. Send me a message and I will give you the instructions. There is a small Ramen place a few miles from my houe and I got him to interpret it for me. I couldn't tell him this stuff was better than his homemade broth. LOL

This and some fresh strawberries or blueberries with a little sugar poured on them. I eat that 3 or 4 times a week.

When I made chief cook part of my job was to predict how many would show up to eat. A good chief cook will have enough to serve everyone, and have little left over, but sometimes it s like predicting the weather. Certain foods brought more folks than others. Doenut mornings, and ribeye dinners sucked. We usually ran out of ribeyes, and served ham instead. Had some irate patrons when that happened:rant:

I always got my steak! Yeah it would be tough to hit it on the nail. Yep, even weather can affect how many show up. When the fried baloney was served it was a Saturday morning with crappy weather so actually more Jarheads showed up than usual but they still got fed! Good times!

If you guys have suggestions for something vegetarian that is quick and easy both to make and to eat (hand-held would be best), and is still edible after cooling off for half an hour while I drive to the hospital, my wife (and I) would be forever grateful.
