Knock on wood since I bought my 21 LunaRock Pro I’am very anal with keeping my vehicles clean. My paint has been flawless. Cleans up really nice and don’t show the dirt much when it’s dirty. Yes people complain about Toyota’s paint. So far very happy with my paint.

At the time, I was just reading posts that seemed like the 21’s had more problems.
To date, I had to have my steering rack replaced due to the recall.
I do have a couple small paint chips from road debris.
Knock on wood, that’s the only issue to date.

Bought a used 2018. As soon as the 2022s made their reveal (design and drivetrain), I decided to trade up to a 2021 to have this platform new. Been to the dealer 1 time since I bought it, that was for the 5k toyota care interval, haven't been back and done all my own maintenance at 5k OCI.

Few minor things I've noticed, likely no fault to Toyota, it seems the truck dents fairly easy and I got a chip in my hood bulge (probably from a rock). Outside of that, couldn't ask for a better 1/2 ton IHMO that fits all my needs.

Just a suggestion but don't read into the post on the forum. Enjoy the truck as someone somwhere will always post about something negative. Its human nature.
Wanna go nuts? Get into the I need the trans cooler that Toyota decided I don't!!!

For the most part, I now read through the posts and try not to worry about it too much.
Trust me, I already was looking into the trans cooler as well. Still on the fence if I should add one or not, LOL

I bought a 2021 limited extended cab exactly one year ago with 7000 miles on it. There is now just under 15k. It has been an outstanding truck so far. No rattles or squeaks or any other issues. After a year of ownership my only complaints are no rear window defrost grid, no heated steering wheel and no transmission cooler.

I traded in a 2015 Tacoma that I had 6 years and was a disappointment. It rattled in the seat rails that the dealership said they could not fix. It sagged on one side that also annoyed me. The overall fit and finish not as good as the tundra.

I also had a first gen tundra 13 years that frame rotted out with only 106,000 miles.

Bought my ‘21 SR5 new. I’ve got right at 70k on it now. 99% highway miles. No mechanical issues to speak of. I stopped going to the dealer for maintenance long ago and do all the fluid maintenance myself. The only exception is the brakes, brake fluid, turning rotors.

“Ike”. If interested check out Genuine Cooling Systems.com. I installed a transmission cooler from him and couldn’t be happier. All the parts are OEM except the cooler. Everything bolts right up and only cutting a 1” hole to run the soft lines thru the plastic shroud next to the radiator.

only 21K miles as of today

    Dodged the steering recall

    Good truck
Design is smooth, simple, and so far has been reliable

To me it seems like a really solid year of Tundra, I bought and sold a '21 tacoma in '21, it was less than half the truck of the '21 Tundra having driven both for at least 1000 miles.

The only problems with my 2021 is it likes gasoline and it collects dirt on the paint.

My '21 has been great for the 9 months and 9k miles I've had it. Only quirks have been Android Auto cutting out a few times, but that's on me as my charging cord is like 5+ yrs old. The other is the 'brake' light that will flash if the vehicle thinks you should be stopping has sounded the alarm 3 times, none of which were times I actually needed to as I was on open road. Weird, but whatever. I turned off all the various chimes.

    I absolutely love this truck!

My 2021 Tundra TRD Pro which I bought brand new just hit 62,458 miles today. Outside of oil changes (I use Amsoil Signature Series) and tire rotations, I have also services the front and rear diff fluids and radiator fluid changed at 50,000 miles. I just had the transmission and brake fluids changed at 60,100'ish miles. I do a lot of towing so fluid maintenance is really important. My Tundra pulls a 7,400 lbs. boat (combined weight with trailer) every other weekend, and I have a trailer that I lug around six ATV's on that my family regularly enjoys. That trailer with the ATV's runs almost 6,000 lbs with the trailer and fuel.

I have owned a lot of 1/2 ton trucks over the last 20 years, and none of them tow as good as this Tundra does. That 4.30 rear end is incredible.

Overall, this Tundra has been flawless.

Did you add a trans cooler or leave it as it came from factory?

My 21 had to have new wipers installed. Well, not really. I just thought it wouldn't hurt. Still just shy of 36K miles and tomorrow morning I hitch up the travel trailer and head south for the winter....Again. 4 years in a row.

Mine is about to turn 15,000 miles and I had one wiper blade that was torn and needed replaced. Considering it has been 3 years of sitting outside, I thought it had a good life span. (Replaced with OEM- not sightline)

LOL, I cant believe that I had to replace these wiper blades after only 3 years.

    Seriously though,
I drive a 2022 F150 (5.0) extended cab during the week for work and the Tundra or GX on the weekend.
Driving these vehicles on the weekend is one of the highlights of the week.

I bought a 2021 this year. It only had 19K on the clock at the time. To date, I have put another 5K miles on it.

Apparently, there was something wrong with the exhaust system. I only know this because the wife insisted I replace it immediately with a straight pipe system from Dirty Deeds. It does sound much better now, so it seems she was right as usual.

I did add a transcooler onto my 2021 Tundra. https://genuinecoolingsystems.com/

It has been fantastic and worth every penny. It is still upsetting Toyota took that off.
