Trans "heater/cooler" How in hell did they miss those? Must have been dumping fluid on start up?

No idea, i did not have any oil droppings on the floor at all. But they did show me it before they fixed it. Trans was had oil residue everywhere.
Must of been a friday truck when it rolled out the line

I bought a 2021 platinum had 3 miles on it at 34 miles back to the dealership..... bent rear driver's side axle! made a squeal that sounded like when the tire rotation got to a certain spot then squealed. service tech said it was so loud inside the repair bay. so going to be getting new axle shaft and a lot of new parts on a brand new truck!

It happens, thankfully Toyota rarely puts up a fuss over it.

I did and the noise didn't happen until it hit 22 miles. This is the 4th Tundra i have bought and all from the same dealership.....always service at the same dealership as well. First one that has kind of left me with an uneasy feeling. Owned a few other Toyotas in addition to the Tundra. I just can't believe it wasn't caught in the build process.....

This is about 2021, I know, but I put 36,000 drive it like you stole it miles on my 2020 in 363 days. Had not a single problem with it other than the frame couldn't stand up to an Acura rear ending it.

Have had my ‘21 TSS Off Road since October of 2020. I don’t drive a ton and am just getting ready to hit 5k miles, but the truck has been absolutely flawless.

I appreciate all the comments. The only issue I have with my 21 so far is the console gap. My dealer offered to replace it but thought the replacement could be the same. Since it wasn't that bad, I asked them to cover the cost of the interior/exterior warranty (Which they did) I figured since Toyota has pretty thin paint, it wouldn't be a bad idea.

I did a similar thing in April. Sold my 2017 DC for $3,500 less than I what I paid for it new. With almost 50k on the odometer I thought that was great. I picked up a '21 1794 in Mid - August. I've got 1000 miles and zero issues. Like I stated in an earlier post. This is my 3rd Tundra.

I’ve been thinking about following up on this post now that Toyota has issued a power steering Recall. Knock on wood, My truck has been flawless for 2000 miles and I hope I don’t have any issues either. I know 1 in 4 may have the Rack defect but it still concerns me. I’ll be using it to tow (about 200 miles a day) in the spring and hope they figure this out soon.

I also have a TRD skid plate and front sway bar waiting to be installed when I do my first pull change but don’t want to install them if the dealer will have to remove them to install a new rack eventually. Opinions on if I should install them and not worry about Toyota removing them later.

You should be able to put your VIN number into this website and tell right away if your truck is affected by the recall.
Check for Recalls: Vehicle, Car Seat, Tire, Equipment | NHTSA

I did this a couple of days ago and found that my truck has zero recalls.
    Good Luck!

I did this back around Thanksgiving when I got the notice from Carfax and it did show my truck was on the list.
I still think it is crazy that Toyota has NOT sent any notices to owners about this recall especially since it is potentially very dangerous.
I am a firm believer that communication is very important in any business and without it, things fail.
I love my truck, but I am not happy with the way Toyota is handling this right now.

2021 CM Trail, 17k, bought last June. Been pretty much flawless, except for the nasty coolant leak from the heat exchanger cover.

That sucks. Looks like you got hit with something sharp? I get hit with rocks all the time on the highways around here. We have semi trucks constantly driving through Nashville, tearing up the roads and flinging chunks behind them as they go. I try to hang back away from them, but apparently not far enough.

At the stealership now having the hood bulge replaced under warranty...first time I washed it noticed a quarter size spot under the paint. Last week when washing it paint flaked off in that spot. Yota stepped up and are replacing it. They said there is a known issue with the white trucks in this area...I'm army green.

Only other issue I've had was at 128 miles. Transmission tail shaft seal was leaking. Warranty covered that and haven't had a problem since.

I added the Genuine tranny cooler kit as I pull a 26ft travel trailer with it. Tranny temp average was 227*-235* when towing last summer.

It is a plandemic truck so we will have to wait and see.

No there was something under the paint. First time I washed it I noticed a quarter size circle at this location... pretty sure there was contamination under the paint.

Is that a stock painted grille surround? I haven’t seen a painted surround with the chrome grille. Paint chip aside, I like that look.

SR5 Trail Editions came that way, but you could also piece it together very easily. I bought an older PRO grille without sensor cut out and swapped my limited insert to the color surround. 977E6E5B-3A93-4166-8DC2-B5AC2642BFDA.jpg

Yep mines the trail edition. Has the bolt in beer coolers in the bed. Or storage compartment... whatever you wanna call em. Filled the driver's side with ice and mtn. Dew on my last Idaho trip.

11k miles on mine and except for the halogen headlight recall it has been problem free. Took a year for the recall to happen, once they “fixed” it, left headlight went out. Made the swap to LEDs. Biggest issue I have is the service department is clueless. Had them install the driver side grab handle, guy said I’m the first one ever to do that. Should have printed the instructions for him.

No issues with mine so far.

I will say though that the fuel efficiency and power isn't as good as it was on my '18 Tundra.

The above quote was from Sept ‘21. My ‘21 (built in Sept ‘20) has still been flawless for over 2 years and almost 41k miles. CarPlay hasn't frozen on me in a long time.

Pro tip: if CarPlay is slow to respond or freezes, press and hold the power/volume knob. This resets the head unit. I think in hindsight my issues were coming from my phone, not the truck.
Seems that the ‘21s are actually doing slightly better according to Fuelly. If it’s a noticeable difference and you have the same mods on the ‘21 as you did on the ‘18, I’d maybe look to see if you have a caliper that is slightly pinching the rotor or an issue with how your parking brake is adjusted.
