Nope, I think you were being too kind and understanding and he's taking advantage of it. Time to be a dick and blast him. (Not with a gun)

The hell Joe? Anybody with half a brain can see you've been more patient than most! I'd be up in arms by month 1!

Nah, you handled it well bud

You gave him way more time to get his shit together and he failed miserably. I can certainly appreciate your patience! It speaks volumes.

I'm just like you...I give quite a bit of a grace period before I start the heat. I know what it's like to be a small time guy with not enough time to go around. But, when I make a mistake it doesn't take me long AT ALL to go above and beyond to make up for it.

Word of mouth is the greatest promoter, but it's also ones worst mightmare when you screw up.

    Well played bro!!

Im the guy that will spend a little extra to buy local. Or keep it domestic. Or support the little guy. Only thing I ask for is good service and a quality product for my money.

I still even feel bad outting this guy - but everyone needs to know. And I know I shouldnt feel bad.

You did the right thing. By letting others know it will cost that company more then if they would have just took care of you like they should have to begin with.

I was pretty sure this is the way it would go. It was obvious after 2 months the guy didn't give a shit and he even laughs about it in his message.

A little of this and a little of that.
@joem1cha3l you've done the right thing. I'm sorry you feel bad about having to out this clown but anyone who's thinking of buying his product needs to know this is a possibility for them too. You have been more than nice and patient with him. The thing that would have pissed me off was how he makes light of it more than once. Sorry you're having to go through this cause the grille looks hella good, at least what it should look like. I probably wouldn't have been as nice as you have been. You could also post a yelp review on his company as well. Potential customers deserve to know!!

YOU should not feel bad. He should make a valiant effort to turn your opinion around.

In my line of work a large part of what I do is give my employees the tools to give World Class Service, and your experience was, and is not, great service
It's just trying to shut you up so you quit calling and messaging.

Great service is not rare, but it's minimal in today's world. Hold his feet to the fire like you've been doing and keep saying what you have, "let's get this thing shipped out and keep a happy customer."
    Thats the right approach!

I have accepted responsibility and did send out the color plate priority to you. We are dealing with new employees etc is a nightmare. I'm a straight up to the point guy and a 23yr military vet. You couldve just dealt with us directly
let me know if you still have an issues directly

Hmmm. Just a fly on the wall here (and also a 20 yr vet), but it sounds like he did deal directly with you.

Two sides (or more) to every story, but posting up in a very defensive posture in this case is not helping your cause.

Helping your cause is sucking it up, making it right, learn from the experience and move on.

    Just my .02

Great stepping up. Just replying to this thread speaks volumes. I appreciate vendors that "publicly" take responsibility. I'm sure others will agree.

The minute the plate shows up I'll post on here that Danny took care of everything. I'm not here to ruin anyone's reputation. But I paid a pretty penny for a quality product. I just want what I paid for and dealing through private communication got me NOWHERE.

I think the damage has been done. I've heard reviews with DBCustoms and they all have been that the product is overpriced but that's about it. I'm with you on the buy local and help the little guy but sometimes that's not the best route in order to achieve the look and quality for your truck. And little company or not, 3 months to fix a plate is just ridiculous. Even when you get the part that was messed up, I'd still be very unhappy due to the time it took for him to make it better. In the long run, you got stiffed 3 months for something that should have taken no longer than a week. Just unacceptable. I know I'll never use them nor inquire about their work. The whole "Mr. NiceGuy" goes out the window the first month. that's my nickels worth.

after 3 months, the least he could have done was go through 500 addresses to make his company seem like they give a shit. I hate folks like this.

Like I said...I agree. Not arguing the points that have been made. I'm just putting my .02 on addressing the group. I'm also not arguing it's not what a customer wants to hear.

The entire situation could've/should've been handled better. No question

We've all dealt with companies like this. It's unnecessary stress. We lose sleep over shit like this. I have too much stress to deal with already in my life. And for someone to add to my stress over a product I paid money for because they're too lazy to look up an address and to ship it out? It would be one thing if it were on back order and he had no control over, but to say he's getting sick of seeing it on his desk everyday? And not even an apology.
