I'd say it's all in how you use your super power. The power itself is just a tool.

I can relate. Though mine isn't usually a thought out thing, it just kind of happens and then after the fact I'm thinking "WTF?" about it. I'm about the best liar you'd ever meet. Generally it winds up being something to spare somebody that I care about. For example, had a friend ask me if I thought she led me on after she married somebody else. Truth, F**k yeah she did, but to her I said "Of course not. You're not like that at all." I take the stuff on rather than making somebody I care about feel sad or guilty, even if it's a lie. I don't think about it, it just pours out of my mouth and my brain goes "dude, you just flat out lied" and I'm like "dude, shut up. They don't need to know."

Use your power for good.... or have fun with it. Whatever floats your boat.

When I use it for "good", I usually don't care nor do ever think about it again.

But, the most recent example (Karma moment behind it) is how I snagged this brand new -19 w/3,829 mi- Platty for 40otd. Long story short... I went in first day, found out sales person wasn't gunna be in the next day... Did some paperwork at the house and came back in that next day with it. Talked to Sales Mgr right from start and pretended I was upset they wouldn't come off the additional $1,500 more that was previously "not" agreed upon. Long story shorter. They did --- then I showed them this dent and BS'd some more.

The were at $44,800 that first day --- no better. I lucked out neither of them were there. I walked out with it at 40.

5 days have gone by and I woke up with a flat this morning (nail in my tire).

I immediately then thought, well that was KARMA doing me over for the bullshit I just pulled off.

Again, sometimes it's good and sometimes it's bad. I've gotten much better as I've grown in age at filtering the bad out, but it still happens on occasions --- and sadly to always benefitting my personal gain. That's what I mean when I say, I gotta work on it LOL.

Like I said, whatever floats your boat... or makes the world burn.

Seriously, though, props to you for working toward being on the right side of your moral compass. Lots of people don't even think about it, let alone try to improve.

Same. Watch Antiques Roadshow sometime. As soon as they show stuff I'll say I like it or hate it. Cheap stuff I'm usually not down on, but if I like it... well can't afford it. lol

    Lots.
The wife and I love Antiques Roadshow and watch it all the time! Too bad my superpower doesn't apply when it comes to the value of the things I purchase at garage sales, swap meets or flea markets. Seems to only work for the price of the things I like and not the other way around.o_O

I can BASH my head on a daily basis. I'm 6'5"....have been for YEARS, yet my proximity meter must be off. I would estimate that at least 3-4 times month I draw blood....the other times it's just a knock. Often times, after I brained myself, I actually, for a split second, think someone snuck up and hit me.
Over the summer we had our house remodeled. New siding. The job had just been completed and I was walking around looking at the work. I walked into a ladder jack and promptly removed my hat. I hit so hard, I thought I had been assaulted. Once the stars cleared, I couldn't help but giggle to myself. Bright sunny day, I knew I was on a construction site, had observed the ladder jack for days....promptly walked smack into it creating the loudest tooth jarring thud. Any neighbor lucky enough to witness my power gets a great laugh.

I can drag a fart out really long and then say "Speak oh Toothless Wonder!" usually around friends and family. Strangers for some reason don't see the humor.

I have the super power to be totally and sincerely surprised when I open a gift from my wife on my birthday or Christmas and the gift is EXACTLY what I wanted!!!
    (Color, size, quantity, etc.)
More than once after opening a gift with the excitement and energy of a squirrel on crack, my wife has said, "...you bought it and put it my closet 2 months ago telling me to wrap it up for Christmas/your birthday..."
This is not because I am 50 either....
...according to my wife, I have suffered from (or been blessed with the super power of) self-gift-buying amnesia, since we married 20 years ago.
I also have the super power of imitating the voice of a stressed out Don Knotts so accurately it would fool his mother or Andy Griffith.

I think I noticed above that someone else has a similar power but I can't remember people's names to save my life. More accurately, I always mix up at least two names when I meet someone new, despite using all the little tricks - say their name back to them, think of a mnemonic, whatever. Seconds after meeting them, uncertainty sets in.

    J: Hi, I'm Jill.
R: Nice to meet you Jill. [...] (To self) Crap, was that Jill or Jane?

Oh yeah, I'm bad with faces too.

When I was in high school, my girlfriend's sister came up and started talking to me. After 5 minutes I finally got up the courage to ask if I knew her.

I have the innate ability to find the coolest most unique item out of any product line, only to find out it's no longer being made.
And I always get the same response, "We don't know why they quit making that, lots of people swear by them"!

My super power is IMMEDIATELY forgetting a person's name as soon as they introduce themselves, it's like it goes in my ear and right away it leaks out the other ear instead of going to my brain, however if it is someone in my neighborhood and they introduce me to the dog they are walking I immediately ingrain the dog's name in my memory for the next twelve years.

It's so embarrassing... I see them walking again and it's like hey Fido how are you glad to see you again, and hey hooman have we even met before?

I know the names of all the dogs I see regularly in my neighbourhood. Never once had a conversation with any of their hoomans.

I can go to a place one time. Large city, any country, any state, and remember how to navigate around the area forever. I had not been to San Francisco in ten years and knew exactly where to go and how to get around even with new construction. Same in overseas cities as well. Weird but helpful.

    You sound like my dad.

He could pull up the map quest route on our dial up router, and glance at it a few times. He knew how to get where he was going. Never failed, and his dead reckoning was always spot on.

"Daaaaaad, how long until we get therrrrrrrre?" We'd cry from the back if the Malibu...

Dad would glance down at the clock on the dash. Think for a few seconds, look up into the rear view mirror, and say "we'll get there in 1 hour, and 15 minutes. So about 10:45."

Us kids in the back would cry out in unanimity, "uggggggh"

Too bad that second picture isn't you douchebag. Don't steal photos. Not cool brother. That's Jordan Mason and he was the fastest on TWOs at Blood Mountain. Still would be if he had a bike. I know because I ride with him all the time we are the JM duo.

Your superPower might as well be fraud!

Never in my life did I think someone had the balls to pose as someone faster than them on TWO wheels.

That's fuckin lame you did that brother.

I'm very forgetful/easily distracted. No matter the importance, I will forget about it at some point or another.

Today I forgot to take out the garbage a minute after I rounded it all up just cause I put some xmas stuff on my girls car... then, right after gettin on my car it hit me... got back in the house and took it out.
This superpower has got me into so much trouble with work, women, parents and myself like you wouldn't believe.

There's also a chance I might be a tad socially inept, example (+the one above):
At a party my GF introduced me to one friend of hers that I happened to have met before at a club long time ago (was nothing but small talk), I didn't mention that we had met before and went on as if it was the first time. Soon after she found out and well... the rest is a lot of drama.

My other superpower is not giving a $**t about anything or anyone I consider mildly useless to me. This one is actually a good thing.

I don't really notice it, but my wife and kids say that small children and animals are attracted to me. I've always liked kids and animals so that may be part of it. I can typically make friends with a dog within 60 seconds, or maybe two minutes with one that is particularly skittish.

My daughter loves dogs and gets jealous when ours come to me instead of her.

I have a few of the ones mentioned, including forgetting names right after I hear them and remembering random shit. Interesting to have both of those right?

One of my super powers was found while I was a service plumber and worked a lot of overnight shifts. I learned that I can work very well in the dark. I can repair shit without really seeing it. I often work on my cars at night outside with no work lights, sounds sketchy I know but I am used to it.

Now for the funny. I work in an office these days and my team are pretty much a specially selected group of awesome individuals. Several people on my team have had twins, its kind of a theme. One of my teammates came into our monthly meeting (pre covid) with a coffee cup that reads "I make twins. What's your super power?" Without any thought to being at work, I said "I make single mothers, whats your super power?" :rofl:luckily my team loves a foul joke, they all laughed and HR was not called that day.

By the way I don't have any kids, not even with single mothers.

    I'm not sure if it's a Superpower or some higher being/power screwing with me, but it's uncanny how often the following happens to me on a regular basis;

The stoplight changes just in time for me to be the first one stopped - and forced to wait the maximum amount of time. As I get there just barely too late to even gun it make it on the orange... doesn't matter how slow or fast I drive, or how much I experiment/study the light timing of my routes, still happens. If I start figuring it out and timing it right, say, driving exactly 45 once this light turns green and making the next light green, the light timing will change.

I get behind some slow ass on a road where I can't safely pass. They finally turn off, and as they're making their right turn onto the intersecting street, ANOTHER slow ass makes a right turn from the same intersecting street to take the place of the previous slow ass. It's like it was a carefully orchestrated slow motion ballet, both turning right at the same time, one replacing the other...

Twenty lines at the store, without fail I will get in the slowest one, and the person right in front of me will want to argue for half an hour about a nickel price difference, or have some such drama that paying for 3 items takes the whole damn day.

I also have the misfortune of cracking a joke or quoting some saying and offending someone. Like the time I was shooting the breeze with a guy at work, we were complaining about things that happen as you get older, and I said "The only way to avoid getting old is to die young". Found out then and there his son had died at age 30...
