I finally got HDMI in the Tundra.

I swapped the USB port I previously installed with a USB / HDMI port that snapped in perfect.

At first I couldn’t get my iPhone to connect but other devices would no problem.
I bought 2 different generic adapters and neither worked so I spent $45 on the dumbass Apple brand adapter and it worked…

idk why I spent time doing this bc it’s kinda pointless but whatever. Don’t call my tundra old I guess. Lol.

I believe the main differences are flex fuel and/or larger fuel tank. I’m not 100% certain on 4.7 differences if any. This thread may have what you seek.

cost me like $120 + shipping to send mine off to have it programmed. But I believe some forum members are able to program them now, maybe they’ll be willing to do it

I’m my case I just waited until the mileage matched. From there it was plug and play. (Not always the case) The Optitron cluster does unlock a few extra settings in the LCD screen which is cool. You should research more on the topic if you’re interested.

It's a lifetime LED light bar in both white and amber. I just mounted to the factory crash bar using the supplied mounting brackets and added a 1/4" spacer that I made myself from some aluminum brackets I had in may garage already. This gave it the right height to fit in the hole in the bumper. I just cut out using a razor blade.

Finally got my C4 Fab Overland bumper installed. I went cheap on the Light bar and bought a single row from LasFit off Amazon. Fit perfect and I think looks great too. Light output is just what I would have expected from the expensive name brand. Now time will tell on whether it will last. I also went cheap and bough the Harbor Freight 12K synthetic winch. Pretty happy with it all. Had Diode Dynamics lights for fogs already and just swapped those over. They are actually the reason I went cheap this time, they have less then what I would expect for light output and already had to replace one under warranty.

I painted it with krylon flat black textured…
    https://www.krylon.com/en/products/all-purpose-spray-paint/fusion-all-in-one-textured

idk if I’d recommend it bc I could see some people hating it. Basically it leaves a sandy feel (like grout), which snags cleaning supplies, lint, etc but after I rubbed it all down pretty hard with my hands it sort of smoothed it down and it is perfect for me but took a lot of time and rubbing, plus I don’t wanna strip it all down and redo it and it does hide blemishes pretty well since it’s an imperfect surface. Kinda like a basketball feel at this point.

the ABC pillars are done as well and the roof is wrapped in black suede.

The AC knobs are the only oem paint on dash but I don’t wanna spend the money to black it out oem style or convert to the digital fancy ac knobs yet. I gotta pace myself.

Great deal on a really good head unit. I bought mine used last year on FB marketplace for $150 I think. And that didn't include the bezel, and steering wheel control adapter.

    Brace yourselves....
TLDR: I put her in a roadside ditch and had to get a local hunter to tow me out. That would have been quite embarrassing if it hadn't been for the following....

And now the wtf part, I was avoiding an oncoming driver, a townie from New Jersey who hit a deer and for some unfathomable reason steered into my path. WTF was wrong with the guy? I'm assuming he was sober as he is a corrections officer on his way to a local prison but who in their right mind does that, how daft can a person be that they wouldn't try to steer away from the headlights bearing down on them?

He was oblivious to the fact that deer cross the road and was genuinely in shock, what really annoyed me was that he seemed more concerned with what looked like non existent damage to the front end of his older vehicle while my truck is sat at 30 degrees in a wet drainage ditch and we couldn't even assess any damage.

Meanwhile a local arrives, asks us if either of us wants the deer, idiot was in a small SUV and I've got three generations in the truck including my 82 year old mother in law, my daughter and autistic nephew, so neither of us wanted it. Deer has bust it's legs, matey doesn't want to use his hunting rifle on it because he's concerned that the police might get funny about putting it out of its misery using a rifle on the publc highway so he produces what turns out to be a blunt 4" folding knife and proceeds to hack out the deer's throat, drags it to side of road.

Sooo, I head back to my truck as I have a much sharper knife and wanted to finish the deer off quicker than our hunter friend and at this point am reminded that I have passengers on board who my wife is now getting out of the truck and up a driveway behind me. But she's having problems with her mother who has an iffy back, so I forget about my knife and proceed to help out.... Still with me, o awestruck reader?

By this time two hunters who work at the property at the top of the driveway have come down to check us out, one has a rifle but by this time the deer has finally died and the idiot is chatting to two troopers who turned up pretty quickly after he called 911.

I interrupt the trooper talking to the idiot, apparently my wife had overheard them swapping tales of service rather than checking if the people in the askew truck were OK, and ask if he could help us extract mother as he's probably had more experience of that kind of thing than my wife. Now I don't wish to offend anyone and am supportive of all the boys in blue but Officer Dibble made my 250lb look like a gorilla suit and was about as much use as a fart in a colander, so my wife and I eventually extracted mother and aided her to the driveway and off the road.

Hunter #1, along with his freezer filler, are gone by this time.

Hunter #2 has gone and returned with a chain, while our tooled up hunter #3 has brought down his F250.

Officer Dibble doesn't seem overly bothered about my mother in law.

A few moments later, I'm out of the ditch and, besides sporting a new garden under the passenger side of the fender and some stragglers on the rear sub frame, my work beast was unscathed.

By this time, my brother in law who lives up the road had rocked up in his 98 F250, expecting to have to extract me and the sister in law has arrived in her Pacifica. Mother doesn't want to get checked out but wife and her sister bundle her into the car and take her to ER.

Officers have no incident number to give me, the idiot has headed off to the prison a few minutes previously, and they also depart.

So now our party that was headed out to dinner is now different than it's original make up, myself, brother in law, autistic nephew and my daughter, who has quite the tale to tell when she returns to the UK!

Wife, sister in law and mother are over-nighting at the hospital - turns out she's got a fractured spine...

Had the driveway not been there things could have been much worse for us because the truck would probably have rolled onto the passenger side if I had entered the ditch by driving down the bank. However, by some fluke I managed to veer off onto the driveway and upon leaving it at what was probably 30mph the passenger side wheels were perfectly aligned with the culvert, which ran under the driveway and had a two foot drop from the tarmac. I know I was perfectly aligned because my tire tracks can be seen on the edge of the drive disappearing into thin air.

Anyway, that was my evening, anyone care to up the ante? :hattip:

PS: I did get an invite from hunter #3 to go out hunting with him and his colleague, so my evening wasn't a total washout after all....

Nice summation. What's 'grab ass' mean?

I was thinking as I was typing that lot out that it could really have done with some visual aids for keepsake purposes. It's not too late for a pic of the small garden hanging off the front and if it's a weird money shot you want I'd be happy to oblige anytime, mods might get a bit funny tho'....

Yesterday I started removing all the ugly cracked oem front for a new front. It’s crazy how thin and flimsy the oem bumper cover is, and mine was metal.

Today I dropped it at Northside 4x4 for an alignment but was just called to come pick it back up bc in their pre-inspection they discovered it has a bad steering rack. Guess I’ll be replacing the steering rack and returning for the alignment.

btw @TheBrit ”grab ass” is when ppl just stand around yappin it up while there’s work to be done.

The super pacific looks great on the dubbel cab. How much room is the between the ned of the bed and the end the shell. Ie how much standing space is there with the bed deployed.
