    Question for the second genners.

What brand of headlights did you all go with?

I know some are on the morimoto headlight upgrade. Not looking to spend that kind of cash.

Just leds in the stock housing works for me.

I put hikari led bulbs into my stock housing. The cut off is pretty good and does not glare oncoming traffic. An alternative is the Alpharex Pro headlights which look good and is around $400. They come with halogen bulbs but you can fit LEDs in there.

Thanks for the feedback. Trying to find some mom likes since it's her rig is... difficult. I'll look into it.

12yrs later i finally completed my trd themed engine bay with the battery support do-hicky. what do you think? and i just noticed that my trd radiator cap is upside down. easy fix.

when i bought the truck kids were young so i had to buy a grade (ie, base) trim 4x4 cm in order to get the sc'r. that was the agreement with my wife. really wanted at least an sr5 trd trim - limited was way out of my league financially - but family first.

realize now that was my best move. i don't have any electronics that are prone to fail, i have no idea what my mpg is because nothing to tell me and i've been able to build it exactly how i want. big milestone for me today with the engine bay. you can see updates on my build and refresh in progress here. https://www.tundras.com/threads/senseis-2008-salsa-red-build.19875/page-2

    stay safe.

My local PD doesn't take being blinded too lightly. Been pulled over 2x running leds in halogen housings. They were aimed down too. I pulled the trigger and bought Alpharex Pro's.

Installed Reese brake controller. I never cared for controllers installed by drilling into center console, under dash, whatever. I found a perfect spot for it, and it fit just right.

I checked my local/state regulations. I've been pulled over for speeding in my truck with LEDs everywhere. Not once was mentioned. I also have a 24" light bar tied into my high beams. Not even when I bright lighted a state trooper who left his High beams on was it mentioned. He flicked his blue lights on, and flicked em off. I about shit my pants. Lol

Fixed both pillar seat belt adjusters today.

Grey pillar: pulled weatherstrip off a little around the area on front door. Pulled straight back on the top of the grey trim. There is a 10mm bolt on bottom right hand side of greay trim. Black trim below is just clipped in. Didn't take pics of the inside. Sorry.

    Before picture is below.
    https://www.tundras.com/threads/wha...2nd-gen-tundra-today.68/page-236#post-1735034

Black pillar: Mom said it was messed up. Turns out the seat belt was just folded over itself where it enters the "slide" (thin guide for belt. Unsure of proper name.) Fin-agled with it till I had it sorted.

Got some AVS in channel vent visors. Fits like a glove!

I had bought some Lamin X yellow film for the fog lights. The film is great quality but due to the curve on the fog lights, it was difficult to install and led to quite a bit bubbles or bulges (whatever you call it) and it was bothering me. So decided to pull the trigger on the Diode Dynamics SS3 Pro fog lights during the Memorial Day sale. Lightwerkz was fast to ship it out but the US post office are baffoons. Took nearly a week and a half to ship the box 48 miles, one state border via USPS Priority One day... Should have went to go pick it up myself but whatever, it was worth the wait. The brackets for the Sequoia like a glove and looks great. My eyes hurt from looking directly into the lights. It was easy to install, probably took less than 30 minutes. Need to wait now to adjust it to proper height and need some heavy fog to come down here.

@omgboost, I'm looking at them fog lights also. On there website for installation, you get a pigtail that plugs into fog light and 2 connections for factory plug. What is the other plug for? Thanks

They call it snail-mail for a reason.

    Good lookin rig:thumbsup:. I'm jealous.

Did your sequioa already have fogs when you got it?

I've been thinking about putting fogs on moms rig. She is a daytime driver, and has poor night time vision. More light would help her.

Wondering what I would need since hers did not come with them factory.

How do you turn your fogs on?

    Pics with them on?

Looks like you've gotten some attention over this job. ;)

The picture is a bit misleading on their website. You get two H11 to DT plug adapters.

I have factory fog lights. The SS3 kit is plug and play. I turn the fog lights on by the signal stalk. I'll try to get a picture at night with them on but they aren't really leveled or adjusted yet using a wall. I winged it with my eyes and stepped back 25 ft or so and knelt down to the fog light level to see where the glare and such is. I looked at the lights and it was bright! Probably brighter than my headlights!

So I'll need a new stalk, and probably relay.

My first gen had a seperate button on left side of steering wheel on the dash.

Ok, installed my new tailights from Zmoto, which I thought was there own brand. I've had Spyders in, and although they looked good i had condensation problems and my led reverse bulb was causing interference problems. Well my lights came shipped via in a Spyder box  so essentially I bought another pair of Spyders. I'm not sure of the look either, but not a lot of good options for our 2nd Gens :(Here's a daytime picture, I'll take night pics later.

    Night pics better:D

Well it has been a busy day... haven’t necessarily “done” anything today, but between today and yesterday got all of my parts lined up to complete the truck!

    • Ordered Icon RXT leaf pack
    • Ordered RCI skids
      • Engine
      • Transfer
      • Gas tank
    • Took the coils off of the Fox 2.5 coilovers I picked up from another member And dropped them off for powder coating
    • And committed to some King 2.5s w/ clickers for the rear from another member that I will be picking up later this week.
Hopefully this should be it for the suspension for awhile and can now work on cosmetics and lighting.

    feeling excited
