I don’t even have my tundra yet, it’s getting delivered tomorrow, but that hasn’t stopped me from collecting some parts in anticipation.

I believe only the first year of the TRD Pro (2015) came with cloth. Essentially it was just an upgraded SR5 package. I only remember seeing the black/red cloth though.

Best guess is high humidity in MO garage or salvage yard. No back story, typical guy bought it from a guy how bought it from another guy . No airbags in em, so my 30 bucks and 100 rounds of 223 is turning into Sunday labor

Dang, that sucks. Usually they last close to the end of the warranty period from what I’ve read. I ended up buying an Odyssey for my 4Runner, but a lot of people don’t want to spend that kind of money. I don’t have a ton of extra stuff running off the battery, so it should last at least as long as the factory battery. I would have just went with a factory replacement, but Toyota told me the one I had wasn’t available anymore. Go figure.

Got one side swapped out with the new UCA and 6112. While installing the passenger side I somehow separated the CV joint so I had to remove that whole assembly. I ended up buying a new joint and I’ll rebuild this one and have it for a spare. Simple few hour job turned into an all day thing. Hoping to finish up later and take it to get aligned in the morning.

Well they did since Costco has a 3 year warranty. Nothing pro-rated. If it craps out in the first 3 years you get a new battery. After that you get squat. So if the first battery dies after 29 months, your replacement battery will only have a 7 month replacement warranty.

Finally got the Coachbuilder TRD Pro kit all installed today. Only thing I didn’t get done was the steering kit since my wheel spacers and tires aren’t in yet. Once those land I’ll throw the steering kit on it and take it in for the alignment. It’s definitely time for bigger meats. These 285/65’s aren’t cutting it :D

Swapped out my old chrome lug nuts for black lug nuts and locks. The only chrome left is the grille emblem and the rear bumper. I will say, the painted bumper caps weigh a LOT less than the chrome.

Next mods are most likely tint, new UCAs (I really liked JBAs on my old 4Runner), and maybe active roadmaster suspension in the rear.

    Truck looks good
The painted end caps weigh less because they are plastic compared to the metal chrome end caps.

Thanks! And yes, I’m aware. It was just far more of a difference than I was expecting. If the plastic doesn’t hold up over time, I may prep my chrome ones for painting and have a local shop paint them.

The midsize pickups definitely have there purpose. There are times when I’m out in the woods in my tundra that I wish it was smaller. But then when the family is all loaded up the tundra is great. All depends on your use.

I'm really in the same boat. I don't need it anymore but I really like a fullsize bed to sleep in camping, although something smaller would give me so many more options for trails.

I thought about the ranger when I bought my tundra, but the lack of offroad aftermarket kept it out of the cards for me.

Finally decided my bed was ugly enough to finally restore it to black. I bought this stuff nearly 3 years ago with every intention to apply it to the bed at that time. Life happens and fast forward to today. I finally had some time to do it.

Forever Black Truck Bed Liner Gel

This was very easy to apply. I used the applicator that came with it, but once you get halfway, it starts to get chewed up a bit from the bedliner. I had my mini vacuum with me and vacuumed the small bits of the applicator as I went.

It took about an hour for me to do the whole bed and tailgate. I had just enough of the gel. It took maybe 10 minutes to fully dry. Very impressed with the results. I bought truck used and I think the previous owner spilled paint and such all over the bed. This fully restored it back to new again.

Sorry I don’t have before and after photos but take my word for it, the bed was messed up. Paint spills, faded, water/dirt stains, you name it. (You can actually see parts of the bed under the molle panel without the gel on there. Yeah, I know I got lazy and didn’t want to take everything off so I couldn’t reach under the panel with the applicator.)

Same! After this weekend I’ve come to the conclusion that my time is much more valuable than saving a few bucks. Honestly I would've rather paid someone to do the install.

For me I enjoy working on them so i still do it, but it always takes me twice as long as I think it should. I changed my brake pads and rotors on sat and thought 2 hours , took 4 lol my parking brake shoe springs came apart when took off the rear rotors , which I had not planned on and I had to go buy a spring tool to put them back in
