Agree, I’m pulling 7600 lbs up and down Pennsylvania hills without any issue. I see the trans pan temp getting up to 235 but it quickly drops down into the teens and that was the few 90 degree days we had here.

'21 Limited DC. Today was Truxedo Pro X15 tonneau cover and new shoes (BF KO2's 275/65/18), though the old ones only had 90 miles on them. Still looks soooo much better.

Did you mean 275 65 18? I just searched and literally could not find 265 75 18 tires

Looks good! I was torn between the green and cement. I was able to get a cement one quicker, so I went that route. I did the same thing with the factory tires, changed them out with 122 miles on them. Sold them for $800 on Craigslist, so I only paid a little over $200 for my Falkens.

Put on some new tires on stock suspension 275/70/18 Bridgestone dueler a/t revo 3. Went up just a little on the sidewalk but no rubbing even at full lock in reverse. They ride great and feel really soft, my only concern is the air pressure Costco has it set to 30 and 33. Should i keep it at factory specs or inflate to the Tire pressure calculator rating of 38 and 41, seems a high. I wasn't sure if I had the proper load rating (E 125/122) for the Bridgestone Dueler REVO 3 Tire pressure calculator.

Cement is one of my favored colors also. I paid 1100.00 out the door for the KO2's. I have the OEM's listed on FB Market place for 650.00. I will hang onto them otherwise.

I haven’t heard of anyone in particular with issues but over the life of the transmission i imagine 250+ degree temps may affect it. I spent $250 for everything so for me it was a good insurance policy. There’s been lots of guys saying they’ve experienced high temps while towing, and I tow pretty often thru hills and mountains in New Mexico/Arizona. Might as well cool it down a few degrees.

Most the time the installers don’t pay attention to the new tire size being different and just use the pressure on the door jam. If it’s 80 psi max I would definitely put more air in them. That’s just my opinion. But I upgraded to 285/70r17 ridge grapplers which also have 80psi max and I run 65psi.

Max PSI ratings should have no consideration in your optimal tire pressure - the guides will usually get you in the ballpark, but the definitive way is the chalk test: https://www.tundras.com/threads/tire-pressure-chalk-test-how-to-guide.2114/

65 psi is probably way too high, not only for wear but for ride comfort.

Thank you so much for that information, and as it sits right now I’m sure it’s low being at 30 and 33. I think I’ll go with the tire press calculator as it might be closer to the chalk test pressure. At max 80PSI, it should be able to handle 38 and 41.

$250 sounds like a good price for all that. I guess for me it doesn’t really matter since I don’t tow anything at the moment. Could change in the future though. If it’s a serious issue, I’d be good spending more for the peace of mind.

Yes, tire pressure listed in door jam no longer valid once you move to larger, higher load tires. I run the same size as you, but Wildpeaks. What I have found is for normal driving, just me in the truck rear pressure of about 35-36 and fronts at 36 or 37 gives a nice ride, decent handling, good wear. Now running more loaded, wife in truck, cab full of luggage for an interstate trip, I bump front pressure up to about 38, rear around 38. For towing, depending on load and what else I am hauling, keep the fronts at 40 and rears 40-42.

With the Tundra running LT tires, even a pound or two of air pressure adjustment can make a BIG difference in drive/handling feel. I used the tire pressure calculator too, and have run the pressures it recommended, but ride was too hard and the truck felt a little jittery at speed.

So play around with it some and see what feels best. But you are correct, the 30/33 is too low for that size tire.

when I had KO2’s with a max psi of 80 - they came on the truck and recommended was 49 based on the door sticker but the sweet spot seemed to be 43-45

I've been rocking with 46 front & 48 rear... it's been the sweet spot for me - better gas mileage than when it was at 38 all around.
