It must depend on the tech you get. I had Safelite do mine and the tech spent some extra time cleaning up all the surface rust and treating it before he put the new windshield in. He was at my place about 2 hours from start to finish.

Thought I should start watching the Craigs list and Facepage Market for a cap, and on the first search found a mint color matched Century for 400 bucks. Wife just picked it up.

Tires came in, get them on next week.

Also going to have some cats welded in next week at an exhaust shop. Wife says she can’t tell if it’s just a loud exhaust, or if there is a leak. Here’s hoping the manifolds are cracked and I get some long tubes!

Is there a way to disable the auto door lock when the truck is put in gear?

I have an 02, as well, and there is no such function (never has been) as this on mine. I am sure there is a way to disable but not sure how.

I discovered I don't have bumpstops on my rear leafs. Not that they're broken or worn down. They're not there. Well, we'll add that to the list. I was actually looking at Sumo Springs or Timbrens today anyways, so there's that....

Pulled the rear drums and adjusted the brakes. Didn't need to change anything as the shoes still had some meat on them. However, I only have emerge3ncy brake on the passenger side, as the unit on the back of the driver's side is frozen solid. Will need to pull that one at a later time, because I could not break it loose.

buttoned more interior, installed the redarc tow pro. lower dash piece is getting replaced eventually. so decided to try to dial here, the controller itself is behind the gauge cluster with 3M body molding double sided tape holding it onto the dash.. seemed solid enough.

My problem spots are where the two roof rubber weather strips meet the windshield seal, and the glass actually sprouted cracks from both spots, first one a couple months ago, other side just a couple days ago. To make it worse, the two cracks are about to connect and then I imagine shortly after, the removal will just happen on its own, likely whilst I’m driving. All bad

Turned the ole girl over today for the first time since May 23rd. (13 days.)

She had a little engine wobble, and small puff of blue smoke from the exhaust. My first thought was "Aw, shit."

She straightened up after the first 30 seconds. Stumbled a little until then. Guess that battery was on the verge of a no start?
    Screenshot_20210605-074332_HT200.jpg

Damn. Hopefully, it's just a onetime thing after having sat for 13 days.

But to stay on thread topic - I activated the CEL on the Tundra today. Was running a little .... phlemmy. It felt like the motor needed to clear it's throat, this slight something that is off. Apparently that whatever plus spirited driving didn't mix. Perhaps this CEL will get me to the solution. Thoughts welcome - on the running issue.

First leg of my first trip. 170 miles, and all is well so far. I definitely miss my bright lights, but am impressed with the spread of the factory fogs. They put the sequoia’s fogs to shame. The truck feels happier at 60-65, but it ran up to 85 with ease. The dash voltmeter rides way up at the top of the ‘acceptable’ range, but i’ll burn that bridge when i get to it. Not going to be a hypermiling tank, had to do some wfo maneuvering, but it doesnt seem too bad. Might need to work on my fuel tank vent. Theres a woosh of air as i open the gas cap.

Did you paint your dash, or is that the dark grey? I have a some spots on my dash from the previous owner that removed the factory color and I really like that dark interior over the lighter grey.

Replaced the Pcv value, serpentine belt, and tensioner belt pulley. This should fix my cold start Squeak in the mornings. Did the Pcv (replaced with oem), just cause (takes a 7/8 open wrench to remove)

Went with the Gates green belt and gates pulley (part #36119). Read on another thread that it worked and went with it. Please note o’Reillys will tell you the part number won’t fit the truck and will want to sell you the whole assembly.

Don't let a kid out smart you.
After 6 days of non op. We got the SAIS replacement done and the cleaning definitely did something. It sounds better and it feels like it can breath again. But most importantly. no more limp mode and no more check engine light. She also got an oil change, a new fuel injector connector, and a wash. This truck is more spoiled than the rich kids were I live. :p

Well guys/gals, I think I've worked pretty long and hard (hehe), set aside some monies and I deserve to spoil my Tundra a little bit. She did after all provide me with about 231,000 smiles per gallon between my last two off roading trips and I even lived out of the truck bed under a softopper for a few days in the rain.

So I think she needs some nice amber led pods for fog lights, some high end water proof seat covers, and lastly I'd like to upgrade my door tweeters and power up some subwoofers. Right now I'm not at all impressed with my sound quality. Since it is my daily and my overlander, I think it's time for some improvements. Any recommendations?

If your overlanding with your rig, I would look for efficient, low power options for the stereo so you don't drain your precious battery power with your tunes. Tweets are easy to come by for low cost. Added a set of Alpine 1" soft domes to my son's car for $19. Sound great. Subs are hard to fit in our vehicles regardless of cab configuration and you'll want to keep the weight down and available storage up. 8" shallow mount will not take up much space and add some low end. A small digital amp can provide the power efficiently. The combinations are endless and everyone has a favorite brand or setup. Pioneer and Alpine make some great, cheap digital amps. Crutchfield is a great place to research and buy from. Amazing Warehouse is often a cheaper option, but comes with no support or guarantees.

Just a new head unit and speakers in the factory locations can make a world of difference. Not sure if you have already replaced these or not. Adding an amp for these speakers will also take them to the next level. Components up front are a great way to improve the sound over the factory speakers. Rear doors provide mainly "fill" and you could go components there, or stick with a quality coaxial replacement.

Another aspect to it all is sound deadening. Your car stereo has to fight all the ambient road, wind and engine noise. The quieter you can make it inside, the better the stereo will sound.

Moved my phone mount as I didn’t like it sitting on my dash or windshield. I still want to fab a piece to tuck into the stereo/hvac surround but this works pretty well.

I've got a Pioneer touch screen and some Sony speakers in the doors front and rear, stock tweeters. I'm not satisfied with the sound quality at all lately. I've noticed several songs don't sound right in my truck for some reason. It's hard to explain, but it's like parts of the music are muted or missing. With bass that's always the most obvious and common, but I'm even talking about mid and treble sometimes. I've been considering just replacing the stock tweeters and buying one or two powered 8 inch Kicker subs. Or going a little deeper into my wallet and getting tweeters, an amp to power speakers (possibly replacing the cheap Sony's), and a 10 inch sub
