What have you done to your 1st gen Tundra today?

Ye. My 2002 was Spec’d different than the 2005. Been using NGK Basics Spec for $1.84 a Plug.

 

I changed the plugs on an older Toyota once and half were Denso half were NKG.

 

Could just buy an oem style replacement seat bottom covers. Not too bad to install.

I believe the 3.4 v6 was that way. Maybe that's the 5vzfe? Memory could be mistaken.

Not trying to bog down your build thread, so I'll ask here.

When you ordered your JBA's on Summit did you see the "check fitment > choose engine size" under the 4.7 motor?
Looks like they want you to choose cubic in. or cc's, odd because it's the same size. I checked my Sequoia and your Tundra, same results.

 

I mashed the 285 button (without the Air Induction Crap on my 2002).

Still waiting for an answer on the Gaskets in the other Thread. I’ll be using Remflex on the Manifold and either use the Toyota OEM Ring Gasket on the Collector or make my own out of Remflex Blank Sheet Material. Or, I’ll combo the both of them up. Depends on an answer over on the other Thread.

Cool! I was just over on Summit Site again. Think I’ll be doing their Taylor Cable Gaskets (Manifold and Collector) as they are a dead blow Aluminum. Taylor is formerly Percy Gaskets. I’ll be calling them tomorrow to confirm the Collector Gasket and post up paht#’s on the Build Thread.

 

They were up till 2015 on the v6

 

Let me know how it turns out. I had a shop to what they could to “restore” it but I don’t like the results.

Where'd you'd find this Silverado style tailgate cap? I like that it holds a beer and mine is shot. Looks good. Plus, I could use the 40hp.....

 

Ordered up some Remflex Manifold Gaskets and Taylor Cable Collector Gaskets. Will order some Remflex Blank Sheet tomorrow in case I decide to Custom Make the Collector Gaskets. I’ll be able to do a side by side comparison on the two companies, as well.

 

Looks cool from the outside I'm sure. I wonder what it looks like when I'm sitting in bump stops in one side and stretching limit strap on the other while taking a turn. It's not that bad. In a normal truck it would be even better. My springs are a little too soft.

 

Good eye you know your tailgate caps lol. I got the idea from a member on Tundratalk, checked ebay and found one for $30. I love that I can put my beer on it or my tools or my beer

 

Might find some at a truck shell place. They generally get removed and replaced when you put a shell or tonneau cover on.

 

@MS22 that's not OEM right? where did you get the chevy/gmc -esk tailgate trim?

Do you have to drill the holes in the tailgate or did you just use the tape?

 

Did you order some motor mounts too?

 

I’m torn on this one, but have decided not to replace them as they don’t exhibit any problems currently. Easily replaceable if needed down the road as they are first off and last on for this job.

If they were the other way around, I’d for sure replace.
