This is the MC setup that I had stock. I was referring to that piece as the slave cylinder on mine when doing my replacement, not sure if that's the correct term. If you want that part or my entire MC let me know -- it's just sitting in a box. Not sure if it will be good for what you're doing.

I am going to be sore tomorrow, I got a lot done though. In my spare time this week I still have to put the new tie rod ends, tie rod boots, sway bar bushings, and CV shaft in. Then alignment and the stupid wheel studs. That extra hour of daylight is going to come in handy.

    Before:

    Tundy (3).jpg

    Tundy (1).jpg

    After (note the shock oil):

    Tundy (26).jpg

I thankfully remembered to break the axle nut before fully removing the LBJ from the spindle. 35mm is a snug fit on that nut. Pretty sure the ID CV came with an even bigger nut and I said 'F that' when I installed it.

    Tundy (34).jpg

I etched into the cams to keep the alignment roughly and also to mark which way they face. It was a bit of a pain to get the cam bolt back in the driver's side even with the steering rack completely pushed back. I had to completely dismount the sway bar to man handle the steering rack even more. Not a big deal since I have to take it off to do those bushings anyway. After 155k miles I'm still not about that salt life so my sleeves were not that bad; the sawzall sleeps another day. This is what they all looked like pretty much, I wire-wheeled the rust down and then applied a layer of anti-seize to each. The lower shock bolts also got a layer of anti-seize.

    Tundy (35).jpg

    Tundy (20).jpg

The bushings in the old LCAs are shot. Passenger's side has a gnarly squeaker. I am glad I paid for new LCAs rather than deal with pressing the bushings.

    Tundy (36).jpg

I went with new OEM LBJs and bolts. The LBJs come with castle nuts and a cotter pin. I added more threadlocker to the bolts when I put them in.

    Tundy (21).jpg

I am so glad to get these shocks off the truck. In all honesty they've made me feel scared to drive the truck for the last year but I digress.

If your wanting to get rid of it! I’d gladly take it off your hands! What MC setup are you running now that you removed that assembly as that slave cylinder has lines branching down to a T underneath and running to the rear wheels. Did you remove that bracket and T as well? Be curious to see your setup!

Still confused on the Master Cylinder scenario. That part I posted has an actual part# with a price of $371. Looks like the part that is needed. Brand New Toyota OEM Plug and Play.

    Why am I confused?

I have seen this a lot around here where an older truck member recommends the wrong fluid to a member with a 5 speed. Not good.

Anyone know if an 2004 Access cab LSD complete rear end would be a direct swap on my 2004 Double cab? I found an LSD no rust as mine is “bad” 2 hours south for $950 complete! Has 150k on it. So, quite a bit more miles than my truck, but looks in good shape.

It would be a complete assembly with rear swap bar as well.

Yeah, I agree. And I’ve seen people with poor reading comprehension make assumptions that weren’t true. Best to read your manual and do your own due diligence (after gathering info). In the end its your truck/decision.

Try doing a parts search on your truck and then input the part# from the Access Cab into your DC to see if it fits.

I don't really have a use for it anymore. I switched out the drum brakes for disc brakes on my rear axle so I am using the SOS Performance MC. It's a 15/16" bore meant for Sequoias/ disc brakes. That slave cylinder is replaced by an adapter with no fittings on mine. The plunger rod on the inside that came with my new MC is also a bit different.

I did reuse that bracket and T-fitting you mentioned but that's something that might be cheap from the dealer/ elsewhere. Just make sure you get metric lines and t-fittings otherwise you'll have a bad time.

Might be a loose bolt or old crush washer after a freshie oil change. Axle looks good.

Wow, did the rear disc swap huh? I have been going back and forth about doing that myself. But I think for now, I’ll continue to run the rear drums. Would be interested in the kit you used and how the swap went?

I had a set on my '02 when I had the ARB front bumper, they were stiff as hell and cause the CV boots to leak. I read about Wheeler's coils breaking, possibly a bad heat treatment. I replaced them with TRD off road coils after I removed the ARB bumper... I sold the Wheeler's coils and the ARB bumper, and I couldn't be happier with the current set up.

Thank you Rex, I emailed Wheeler's and they were going to try and get specs for them, but I doubt it. Old part numbers. What you said makes great sense, that was my experience. The also look too long to me, but I haven't pulled them off the shocks to measure. I'm not done adjusting my current setup, but so good. Glad you worked it out. E
