If you're luck the shafts will just snap off after about the 3rd turn. My first one was off in roughly 2 minutes the other took about 20 with a ratcheting wrench.

You can't go wrong with 24 beers for most occasions.

The real question is do I go with fewer heavy IPAs and such, or stick with my cheap Kokanee where I can drink a bunch... Quality or quantity? I have both on hand so we'll see how it goes.

Life is too short to drink bad beer. About the lowest quality I'll go is Coors Banquet and that's rare these days.

I agree, I 90% drink local micros and "real" beer. But I always keep a case of Kokanee (cheap) on hand, mostly for when my brother comes over, haha. But I do like to drink cheap beer on occasion, specifically while doing construction, yard work and hunting/fishing. Can drink a few more with fewer consequences. Like the raging headache that often follows a few pints of good IPA at the tap house.

Not crazy. I drink a lot less then I used too and stick to only beer. Body doesn't handle it like in my youth. Trying to keep the beer gut/dad bod from getting too out of hand , so I limit beer to weekends only as well. Haha.

If I drink and work I found things to be much more “broken” once I sobered up. So now when I’m working on shit, I just keep snacks handy.

Im in the same boat, mostly just drinking on the weekends and just beer no liquor. Then I can justify the higher expense of good beers and really enjoy them and sip them rather than pound them. Yea my beer gut is also a big motivator for less beer, haha

My beer gut is why I recently stopped drinking everyday. Start with a good IPA and switch to something light after a nice buzz. Between the drinking and snacking I get a little work done on the truck as well lol.

If you guys were able to snap the shafts you are either he-man or yours were rusted through. I wanted to cut through mine but the hardened steel was too hard and there isn't enough room to really cut it and pull the part from the top. Not much room to cut the nut either.

I had to cut some 1 inch hardened bolts off a trailer last year. I used a Diablo carbide blade in a 12v Sawzall.

I will always have that combo on hand now. Super impressed with how easy it all went.

It might just be the picture but it seems like the new Tundra will be even bigger than the current monstrosity. I hope not. Damn thing looks so long.

It looks like a double cab with a long bed so that is a beast. I wonder what size tires those are.

I hope their is a long (or even "regular" 6ft) option on double cab. Anything less than 6' just wouldn't work for me.

I had a grinder on hand but it was taking forever and I couldn't cut high enough. The Sawzall had some 14t bladed but they weren't making a dent. Right tool for the job is important, on that day I didn't have it.

The notch, liquid wrench, and remove took about 20 minutes per side once I had a plan.

I'm with you there. 6ft is the absolute minimum a truck bed should be.

I’m on mobile where the search sucks but I’ve been searching for the past hour with no discernible results.

What transmission fluid is everyone using?

FSM says “Genuine Toyota ATF-WS” but that shit is like gold.

I remember PHM posting a picture of what he used for his daily drain and fill but can’t find it.

Yikes. Yeah I'm thinking those shocks are due for replacement. Doubt you'll be removing any bolts but rather cutting them out. Good luck!

Started out the morning spending about 1.5 hours playing Hand Jujitsu with the Fuel Pump Connector. Tried all kinds of angles and tools and finally got it with a simultaneous combo of needle nose (Tab Presser) and blunt long screw driver (Pry Tool). She was locked on pretty good from 20 years on road time.

Jumped over to the Fuel Filter to replace it as the day was slipping away and man she was unable to hold the gas back at the new threads. Reached deep into my stuff found on the street corner years ago and gotter dun with some special thread tape. This is a Toy OEM Fuel Filter w/Bracket and some reviewers complained about leaks. I remember a few members here having the same issue and ended up getting frustrated taking it to a shop or buying another brand. The Yellow Thread Tape is Golden! Ended up blowing 3 hours on the filter but with success! Lots of fuel dripping the entire time.

Circled back to the earlier prep done on Fuel Tank Drop and buttoned her back up for another day. I’ve got the Mojo dialed in on her with the jack, the connections to unhook, and basic plan for hopefully a fast install next go around.

Old filter brand? cut open with 30k miles. Some brown schtuff squeezed out of it.
