Their fan/exhaust system is much more complex than yours. Haha I’ve done the exact same thing!!!

Bought it! Picked up a matching topper on the way home. 1 owner, garage kept.

Get this... 204K no timing belt replacement. Insane. Not driving it until its done.

Your work looks damn good! Hell, I was nervous painting my frame and nobody is going to see that but me.

I'll be happy to pay someone else with the proper "etwuipment" to get it done right.

Built roof support for solar and more storage out of extruded aluminum and added lights.

New windshield was installed yesterday. I give it 2 days before my first rock ship. Thank god for autoglass coverage. I go through at least 1 windshield a year.

Credit to the shop for remounting the dash cam in the exact right spot.

Also, the top axle appears to have a proper CV on the inner joint. The middle is a cheaper Tulip inner joint. Those are the ones that will bind up easier

I finally ordered new smooth band worm gear clamps from McMasters to reboot my oem axels; and finally replace the passenger seal that weeps.

Discovered a leak. Despite the known issue with roof have been through car wash and rain storms without issue. Perhaps the last car wash removed a piece of trim? Maybe it was snow+cold? Maybe it’s allergic to Iowa.

Ooof. That roof doesn't look good bruh. I don't think your leak is from a lack of trim. It's probably from all that rust. I bet if you were to pull back that seal at the top of the windshield you'll find even more.

    Wow talk about snail mail.

I might have to make another YouBoob account since mine is full of crap. I was super cringy and tried to make a youtube channel back in middle and early high school days.

With the exhaust mod, there is a little loss in power, but only on the very top end. I might get retuned some day if I'm really feeling it. The sound makes up for the power difference without a doubt.

My O2 simulators got delivered and the mail man gave me my neighbors mail and my package is nowhere to be found fml.

Yeah, a tree branch had fallen on the roof and body shop it was taken to apparently just popped it up and did a bad Bondo job.

The shop that did my tint job said they could sand the roof down, clean it up and then do a "Gator Guard" to try to do a better "patch" job and buy me some time, but recommended a legit new roof.

I'm guessing it's non-trivial to swap a roof out and not something I could do in the Shame Garage. What do we think, buy time or bump up the new roof plans?

What would you buy? I would take it to a few body shops and see if the roof could be salvaged. I cannot imagine it would be cost effective to put a new roof in that truck.

Nothing big to photograph but I did buy a Compustar 4905s during black friday that was installed today. Works great! I love the 2-way remote so I know when my truck is locked/unlocked. It's also nice to have remote start now!

Crawled under and knocked the fuel filter frame bolts lose in prep for a new one down the road. Snapped a few pics of some items. Popped the Speed Sensor off and inspected it for the first time. Lots of clean diff fluid came out.

Everything looked good so cleaned up the Sensor and added some Electric Goo and put it back on. I did remove those 3 screws on the front part of Sensor back in the Summer and wooowwee one could run into troubles with that can of worms!

Safelite left mine in the floor...

    In other news...

Pops old coworker straight up delivered the shell to the house. Jesse wouldn't accept any money, or food even though he came from Indiana.

It looks a little rough, but window geometry looks close. Latch mechanism is different so that might be an uphill battle.

    Thunder grey metallic fo' sho'.

Pops, and Jesse caught up. Talked about the old days, us kiddos, the house, y'know Dad stuff. Talked about Yamashita, Shegeki-san, Global master Wong, the glory days...

Jesse, and pops worked together when Yamashita first came to America. They both remembered when he was showing off his brand new truck to all the maintenance guys. They remembered him pulling a 10 gallon stetson cowboy hat out of the back seat, putting it on, and exclaiming "Now I am real American Cowboy. America is Great, and beautiful."

Now, keep in mind Yamashita was about 5'6. Slender built, small hands, small feet, typical Japanese man. You pull up a picture of "Japanese man" in the google and there's Yamashita.

Anyways, pops showed my truck off for me. Gave Jesse the grand tour. He said "This old truck still looks as good as the day Yamashita showed it off to everyone."

Pops popped the hood, and flipped on my LED strips. He remarked at how "clean, and neat" everything was.

Pops joked with him that most peoples kids are hooked on dope, but mine is hooked on OEM parts.

Sucks that I was asleep for all this but at least I heard about it 2nd hand.

Washed the Tundra today. Maybe last hand wash for the year, snow coming Wed.
Then drove it to the beach, couldn't pass up near 50F temps.

Balanced up the tires. Took them up to 35 psi, harsher ride for sure. Seems one has a slow leak as one wasn't like the others at the air pump before.

Filled the tank yesterday, down a 1/4 tonight. After mostly driving the hybrid for a week I was enjoying the V8 tunes today. Love when it downshifts & roars.
