Ugh, I guess that gives me an excuse to peek at the Lunar Rock TRDpro they have sitting out front.

    Kinda regretting this one....

I thought I had 100% isopropyl alcohol here, but I was wrong. Using a small butane torch to heat up the old seal, and then wipe it away.

Heres the old high mount on the left.

See that hole burnt into it by the incandescent?

The LEDS should be at least twice as bright now :D

I really, really hope this seal is as good as it was before. There was some muddy gunk around the seal on the old one.

Relayed switch box mounted, and wires run into the headliner. Not tied in yet, just installed. Ran switch wires up around the forward over head console so when I'm ready for switches I can just pull that light out, and then fish out the wiring without pulling headliner.

@lsaami's lighted sun visors installed. Sweetness! Need some LED up in here now!

New high mount installed. T-tapped a harness in so I can run bed lights at a later date. Not completely decided on that yet. Ran wires into the drivers side rear pillar. Cut the pos/neg wires at different lengths, heat shrinked, taped, and stowed safely.
Ran the wires anyways so I don't have to pull the headliner again.

In case you haven't noticed, pulling the headliner is one of my least favorite activities on this truck.

I need to update the build thread. Sheesh, my fingers are about raw from messing with all these little ass wires. Didn't help that I laid my fingers open on the stamped hole for the high mount.

My back up camera is only useful to see what's behind me to the left now. But at least now my spare is out of the bed. I'll relocate the camera to the license eventually

I was very lucky. Did a Google on them.
These tires range from $160-$190 a piece locally. Not sure what the rims, center caps, or lugs go for. Either way,

I got real lucky. A fella from work told me his friend was selling his wheels off a new tacoma. I caught these before they were listed online!

    Stoked!

Got the old PO442 code today, and I was just bragging how this truck never has problems.

    Gas cap I think, right?

First thing to try, only go with oem, they’re like 20 bucks. If that doesn’t fix it, pay a shop to smoke test or you’ll just keep guessing. Small leak is a pain to fix if it isn’t the cap, because finding it is hell

I really should invest in a smoke test machine. My VW has leaks seasonally and I find those the hard way.

Gonna try gas cap, the one I have was from Kragen (that long ago) and I see it has cracks around the seal surface.

I was gonna pull bumper and all. Turned into a bigger job than I wanted to fool with today. Imma re-evaluate. Did you pull your bumper to remove the bed?

gotcha, I was afraid it would catch coming up if we didn’t pick straight up. I figured it would make it easier to pull the bumper. How bad are those little clips that hold the wiring in place about breaking when you go to remove them?

i use my fingers to push the tabs in. hard to describe. just pull up the bed high enough to get over the bumper.. but you do want to go as straight up as possible.. not so much for the bumper, more so for the cab. the beds are way lighter than people think too, my 8 footer at scrap was like 320 lbs or something (granted some metal was missing since i had to cut a section out to reach a bed bolt)

Two of my little brothers, my dad, and I lifted my bed off by hand. Wasn’t too bad, you just have to lift it all the way straight up to clear the bumper.
