Thanks. Looks fairly straightforward. Did you replace the filter or just clean it? Did you disconnect the dip stick tube up top to make it easier?

I replaced the screen. The dip stick was fairly straightforward just removed the bolt holding it in place.

Radiator supply house. Custom Made. Wasn’t cheap. But this one actually clears the hood unlike the CSF

My long lost brother! Well, you ain't got shit on me. When I did my pan drop, I managed to snap a bolt holding the filter, didnt clean the old gaskets(yes, plural) good enough, and almost stripped the drain bolt. Mine was leaking till i tightened it up, but i could tell it was about to strip so we're probably in the same boat there. I got the duralast filter kit from autozone and it came with a pan gasket. All has been well since.

@bmf4069 and @lsaami did you have to buy 3 gaskets for the filter as well? Or do they come with it?

Depending on which brand filter you buy, they usually come with them.

    Found it, 96 inch lbs.

Given my propensity to break things, I think I'm going to pass. :D Especially since the bolts are different lengths. Seems like a PITA.

Practice with your new Torque Wrench before using it in a critical spot. Reading the instructions on the new one I just bought, they suggest working out the Mojo with a few practice turns/clicks.

The one I got had them in place already.

Yeah, and I was using my tiny impact and snapped it off like nothing.

Good call. I just went and bought a cheap harbor freight inch lb unit. The instructions say the same thing. I snugged a few of the valve cover bolts to 53 inch lbs.

How did you fix that? I just went out and removed all 19 bolts for the pan and removed the bolt that holds the dipstick tube. Now I just wait for the new parts to arrive.

Are you running a muffler from a highlander still? No resonator?

the muffler shit never happened thanks to me just deciding to do nothing till i do headers. the mufflers just off (damaged from the roll) factory resonator and both cats still on.

this killed alot of the drone so im happy for now. i'll do up a really nice true dual exhaust with an x pipe and 2 QTP screamer mufflers when i do the long tubes.

dual side exit is the goal. with easily removed tips to avoid offroad misshaps

Yeah they can help. Where the pipe ends is the real problem. I ran a flowmaster right after the resonator, it was open at first and turn down after a week. Turn down helped but didn't change that my exhaust was exiting right below my cab.

the resonator is right where my cab ends. so the turn downs far enough back that its away from the cab enough reg cab life

It was one that holds the filter in. The others seem to be holding it fine, and I was half drunk, so I left it and put the pan back on.

Cleaned the MAF and TB today. Reading the thread in the forum motivated me. I like that kind of job: short and easy. The TB was dirty. I have a road trip coming up so maybe this will help with mpg.

Wooooot! I managed to get the broken stud out. As a contingency, I ordered a die and tap set.

there was enough meat on the stud for a vice grip. needed to heat the bolt and stud twice before I could start wiggling the stud.

    Got the replacement today.

Well took the truck 140 miles today for support with my buddy attempting to hit 9 seconds with his mustang. 19.2 mpg!

I can't help but love that radiator. I may have to ask for more details on that custom one.

I bet you'd love my exhaust. The electronic cutout with the turn down is great for when I feel loud, but the cat back has a really nice calm purr when it's closed. This is an old pic from when I slapped in a j-tube to get rid of all my drone. It's a great idea if drone bugs you the way it bugs me.

Took her on a nice road trip of about 220 miles on her first post Timing Belt Maiden Trip. All highway miles with speeds about 65-75 mph. She is running so good. Brakes are working nicely with the Equalizer working (unstuck) as it should, as well. Coolant temps 183-185°. Transmission temps 130-145°.

Slight DEX/Merc drops at the Power Steering to Rez hose connection. May need a snugging on that new hose clamp.

Same as before. 12.8 to 13 measured at the OBD. I haven’t set up the other ways to measure to read the measurements.

Got my archive garage leaf springs in and new bump stops. Dropped the bumper/sliders off to my fabricator to get powder coated. I'm hopeful I can drop the truck off next week to get everything installed but not counting on it.
