That I’m not sure of. Maybe @Darkness could shed some light.

Lots of little things done today.

Starting with LED bulbs convert at rear 3rd brake light. All new bulbs in climate/stereo panel (have to order the T5’s on line), new bulbs in Dome/Map. Did a Map Light mod by removing metal backing plate/shield. Huge difference in the lights with and without shield. Just popped it off by wedging a flathead screw driver between metal and plastic cover (carefully pry along the edges).
Manual states DE 3175 for dome and maps lights. Incorrect on maps lights. It is a 6418 LED.

    With shield. LED bulb.

Without shield (LED bulb). Also, installed (later not pictured) some foil tape inside well and it adds even more reflectivity.

Choked up on the rear sway bar to the middle setting. Added some protective grease on the threads inside the link rods. Sprayed a coat of rattle can flat black on the exposed thread per Hellwig instructions. Sprayed all the shiney bolts/nuts too. Looks stealth again.

The middle setting is very sweet on the Hellwig. Seriously feels like I’m in a luxury race sedan on corners. Solid cornering stance and then a spring out of the ass squat when accelerating. Power jiggy transition into the straights. I’ll check out the third and last setting next week and then determine which one to settle on.

Peeled back the dust covers on the Front axle tie rods. Drivers side had about 4 oz. of gooey syrupy oil run out. Passenger side no goo. Cleaned up the Rack Shaft and Tie Rod balls to shiney metal. Put a few slatherings of grease on the balls area. Streched dust cover back on and put new zip ties to hold.

Wondering what the syrupy stuff was? Did not look like DexIII. Maybe melted ball grease mixed with water instrusion trapped in cover?

Re-plumped with grease the upper ball joints and outside tie rod rubbers.

Oh yeah it was hard to pass that deal!

I did not get the transfer case this round... I was already pushing the bubble with the other 2... haha. But I do find it very low on our trucks. If I hit anything on the transfer skid, I hope I’ll hear it or feel it and will know to make sure it won’t hit the transfer case...

Lume Cubes are awesome. I started using them for photography, but now I use them for everything. I’ve got about 6 of them. I even have a mount for my mountain bike for night riding. Super handy, waterproof, small sized but put out 1500 lumens per Light. I can mount them to my drone as well! I’ll add a few photos I’ve used them in.

    Thank you!

The water fall is Havasu Falls down in the Grand Canyon on the Havasupai Reservation. About 11 mile hike down in. I got lucky and was able to go film some cliff divers there. A few guys jumped off this waterfall (it’s about 110ft).

Haven't heard of that. I have seen a few different lockers for the Tundra but I just run LSD. I may at some point go air locker but its last on my list.

Its beer time already, going for third. Didn't get the arms out because I ran out of daylight and couldn't tell what was holding my steering rack in. You have to pull the rack out and up to get the lower arms out. I'll get back at it tomorrow.

I got $300 to spend on the Tundra. I can get a Spartan Locker for under 3 bills and install it myself but if they don't exist for the 8.4 then I'll just spend it on my 4Runner. :notsure: The only other thing I really need is sliders.

Put the $300 somewhere safe and save for sliders.... (just my opinion). 'Cause you already rock the trails, and you do some that, well, one bad day without sliders....

I've thot about that but what it comes down to is traction over protection. The Tundra is a tow rig foremost and I need the traction for towing the sandrail out to Dumont or Glamis. Sliders would be nice but the Tundra isn't and won't be a trail rig. Firstly, it's too damn big to be a hardcore trail rig. At least the technical rock trails I run. The hardest trail I'd run with it would be White Mtn. and it doesn't require sliders. That trail requires traction more than protection. Besides I already have a dedicated trail rig/crawler. Changed the plugs in my 05. First time they were changed at 95k miles.

The plugs didn't look abnormal, i.e., oil or coolant on the tips. I put in NGK’s

Did the fog anytime mod, added some beefy battery terminals and changed the oil. Wanted to do spark plugs but the wiring took awhile to do because we wired my fogs to my new Baja pods.

So up until now, I’ve had a perfect record on my repairs/mods. Last night (tired), when installing the aluminum foil tape I think I blew out the switch on the pass side map light. Heard it sizzle when the tape hit both contacts. Hit it again and the light went out. Checked the bulb and it works on the other drivers side. No blown fuses. Leads me to thinking I blew the switch

So, my solution: Wire BOTH map lights off the still working drivers side switch. Here is a pic of the assy. I THINK I know the proper way to wire it to BYPASS the pass side switch so JUST the drivers side switch operates BOTH lights and still operates when the doors open. I realize the manual push option will no longer work on PASS side. The driver side will now be the overide switch for manual push operation and both lights will work automatically when doors open.

Thoughts before I do what you think needs to be done before I do it?

These pods are no joke. Much more usable light on road than combo pods! Baja wide cornering amber

Good to know. I'm torn between the black housings or the clear. I think black will look good on my white truck.

Yes the beam is so tight it's awesome. All my light stays on the road. I've always had combo but these are now my favorite

Running some errands this morning. Came out to the truck to find a very small puddle of red coolant... easy to spot! Thanks, Toyota....

After searching looks like what I believe it’s the small “bypass hose”? (Not 100% on the correct part name).... haha

After starting up the truck and warming it back up to get the coolant going, nothings leaking for me. Seems to be the way it always works out.. drove home, still no more leaking. So... hopefully get that hose ordered and replaced tomorrow.... hopefully that’s it....

I’ll get a picture posted in a little bit...

They make a lighter gray that is between the clear and black models. I liked the gray ones and may go that route in a few years maybe as my OEM side blinkers are leaking water slightly. I’ll by the whole kit this time instead of just the headlamps.

BTW, does anyone know if these shaded lights are legal?

The fobs and the T10 bulbs came in today. Installed the 2 T10’s in the climate panel and 1 each for the step light and glove box. Closing the door on that chapter. Next light project is at the instrument panel and finish of the remainder of the T10 bulbs.

Switched the guts into the new fobs. Kept the same OEM chains as the new are dinky (see pic). Overall the fob quality is ok. Had to bend some interior tabs to make the fit and finish work for the battery install. The screws holding the two halves together is much smaller than OEM and lacks a threaded grommet sleeve. All in all decent and looks almost original. Nice and compact original size.
