Monday is final completion if all goes well. I’ll start teardown on Sunday for the major shakedown and see how things look and if any additional parts are needed. This last phase is the critical part and have made the intention of making it a 2 day deal where 1 day is shake down and day 2 is put back.

All the other stuff so far has been dumb hand model stuff making sure I have the proper parts while getting the little details knocked out. Stuff a stealer or goofy shop doesn’t do but charges $3900!

Yeah, that's never sat right with me. Like, you're charging me these extra hours, but the onus is on me to test it all out, and if there's a problem I get to waste my time bringing it back, and you don't give me a partial refund for wasting my time and yours?

I'm glad I have someone 20 minutes walking distance from my house I trust 110% to do my work when I don't have time who doesn't do crap like this.

15 minutes at least before filling coolant. Ideally a hour or 2. To drive? In all reality within an hour. But it’s best if you can to let it sit 12 hours

Confirmed the Sample soaking in water did cure BUT also did peel off easily from the metal. The air dried Sample was much more difficult to peel off and left a residue behind on the metal confirming a nice bond. 3-4 hours of dry time.

Not gonna happen. My squeaky voice can’t match @empty_lord and periodic fart/shart slippage when bending ala @Darkness old age makes for bad video. I’ve been a photo guy my entire career based on smoke and mirrors and dumb sayings. Gotta keep it real with what got me here.

Chief Dance with Rain Technique was in full effect today. Helped wash all the Coolant flushings down the curb drain. :boink:

Pulled a few things off truck and set up work flow/tool table. All set and ready to roll tomorrow.

None at all. They’re the same size as what I have on.
Yep, they’re Milestar Pategonia M/Ts. One of the more inexpensive tires in this size, but they’re rated really well.
Haha! I have one more, and one more on the way.

3 week free-time update. 100 test runs to optimize tire pressure and towing steadiness, new cheap copper ngk plugs, at oem spec. egr valve replaced, 3 qts removed 4 qts added to coolant, zerex asain. 3.5 qts removed , 4 qts added toyadee t-IV trans fluid. all valve cover bolts torqued, and all front end torques verified from last years replacement. New brake actuator for trailer, dialed in for inertia control and smooth as butter. All trailer wiring, grounds, e-brake control, safety chaiins and accesories dialed. i'm sure i for got something, but I gotta do alot for my dad/s absent minded professor tow missile prep for a 2k mile lumber run.

I was dreaming last night about all these new 10mm bolts behind the Timing Belt Cover that I get to polish. Today is game day. I used to watch the Sunday Games but now I get on my knees for my truck. The Flag flies high next to it though. :oldglory:

New battery going in today. Here's the one I pulled out. I can't find any dats on it to indicate the age, but it's a Toyota battert.

    20200927_140631.jpg

    20200927_140635.jpg

The mounting area had the paint rubbed off and some surface rust. I brushed that down and hit it with a couple coats of spray paint. I also repainted the battery hold down bar.

    20200927_140642.jpg

My one concern is that I might have to replace the positive terminal connector as its pretty corroded. We'll see. Updates to follow.

I found a bolt to secure the connector. It pays off having a coffee can of random left over bits and pieces.

Cleaned up the connector and she's in. Great success.

Interesting they’re labeled Kirkland. Are they different than US Costco batteries?

I did same with my strap(on); cleaned it up good and painted it with some rust spray plus got liberal with anti seize. Snapped the bolt though while trying to remove it from the front.
