    Guys help. :(
My spark plug socket got stuck in the tube. I've tried putting tape on the extension, and needle nose pliers. I got it loose but can't seem to pull it out.

If and when I do get it out, is there a special tool or special socket size for our Tundras' spark plugs?

First off this is a minor set back which sucks. We can try a few things like sticking tape around the extension square and jabbing it back into the socket for a tight fit. Then carefully wedge the extension to the side to create more pressure. Start pulling up while keeping wedge pressure.

I bought a special spark plug tool with built in wobble socket on an extension with a magnet inside. Best tool for changing plugs ever. Its a long slim one piece design that doesn’t come apart. Costs about $15 at autozoned.

couldn't @theblurry1 use a magnet pick up tool if its loose enough for that?

Neodymium would be best. Super strong magnents

Thanks for the quick reply, I somehow got it out. Promptly ordered the tool you were talking about and will use it to do the rest. I still need to install a new one in place of the one I got out though, I might JB weld this plug socket and extension together and just sacrifice them for the one.

Great idea, I have a few of those and didn't think to use them. They are little pucks though, and I'm worried they'd get stuck in there too

@theblurry1 glad you got it out. I use these for those types of situations. They have a slide lock that makes it so you can't pull the extension and socket apart until the slide is moved.. [IMG]https://www.amazon.com/CRAFTSMAN-Ex...1599863150&sprefix=locking+3/8,aps,416&sr=8-6

Went to Aisin University this morning. They said to NOT use the Aisin FIPG in the Water Pump Groove
They want you to go around it.

Pretty sure my kit came with a gasket for the water pump. Just used the fipg for that square spot the coolant flows through

Good nuance. Mine comes with the Metal Gasket with the Quality Rubber on it for the Engine Mounting, as well. Just throwing the above info out there. My Aisin FIPG came in and while I haven’t opened it (and won’t until the job) I’m pretty sure its the same Toy 103 you used.

I called ThreeBond yesterday (pretty sure they make the Toy Sealants) and spoke with a rep. They said they’d get back with me on my questions. I’m not holding my breath.

I haven't gotten to that point yet. I was going to make a store run for the fluid. Is this what you recco?

The darn fittings are frozen good by rust, and one of the new brake lines do not match. This will have to be sidelined until I get the right brake line.

Yes. That Bosch5.1 is the stuff. I’d buy some regular DOT3 and do an initial sacrificial flush first to get all the gookies out. After bleeding all 4 wheels, you then pour in the Supremõ Fluid and push out the DOT3.

    Bummer on the wrong part.

The wrong part came in for the image below, front passenger side. This is the one that burst when backing out of my driveway. It was literally a ticking time bomb, lucky that it didn't happen on the road.

I've PB blasted the fittings for days before getting to it. Didn't really help. A torch is probably what the doctor would order.

    IMG_5907.jpg

Driver side. I'll likely need to use a vice grip at that junction block.

This might be a good time to do new hoses, as well. I must have missed reading that your brake line burst. Good thing it was in the driveway.

This happened several weeks back, I've been doing other bits of feather dusting this whole time.

Yes, the hoses will need to be replaced at this point. Would you spring for SS lines?

Yes. This is what I did based on some good reccos here. I believe I went with PowerStop lines and they cost around $90 for 3. Two for the front wheels and one over the rear diff.

Stuff looks crusty up front. Your rear fitting might be worse.

Ran a hose over the truck for the first time in a while.
Drives my wife crazy that I spend 3+ hours cleaning up the truck to just park it covered under the pole barn; she just doesn't get it :notsure:...

I find it therapeutic to wash my ride.

btw, those are awesome awnings, the overhang that sits over the garage openings. Did you design that yourself? I’m trying to build one for my house.
Would you mind sharing some good photos of it and PM me? TIA!

Rear fitting is definitely crusty. Looking to create my own brake line with the NiCopp tubing to replace one below.

Went ahead and ordered some Permatex Optimum Gasket Maker ($8). Seems this is a little heaver duty versus the Toyota 103 and has a higher temp rating. Still assuming the Aisin FIPG is like the 103 until I see it.

You are correct sir. I was thinking the same thing as I was finishing off my meatballs and spaghetti. My end around on this will be using the Permatex ($8) and sending the Aisin University ($20) back to Big Gurrl. Net savings of $27 over fleabaai $35 Toy HighDolla.

Multiple questions for all you honest tundra owners out there. 20 years ago my dad taught me (a girl I know) how to fix almost everything on his toyota truck and since I've been in a tundra for years I usually do all my own repairs. Well someone drilled a hole in my gas tank and I found a mechanic who would sell me a new/used tank for 80$ but only if he got to do the repair (fair deal). At the same time I've had the check engine light one for the SAIS system so I ordered the hewitt bypass kit. After the reset I dropped the PO442 code which I was going for. Yay! 50 miles or so the light popped back on for PO455 and PO441 evap emissions leak (gross leak no flow) and evap emissions system incorrect purge flow. I unfortunately don't know if those codes existed before I repaired the gas tank because I had to overhaul all the ball joints and tie rods. What order do I tackle this new problem?
    A. Drop the tank down and check the fuel lines?
    B. Put on a new purge valve?
    C. New evap canister?
    D. None of the above?
    E. Just fuckin quit already haha.

    2. Most affordable but not the shittiest shocks and struts I should get. Preferably pre compressed so I can put them in myself. Will upload picture of what I have under there now. 20200911_070103.jpg
