It's ok. The reviews were spot on. I caulked every joint with silicone and went over that with bedliner and water still got in. I already have rusty streaks running down the truck.

If you have the skills to build the prinsu rack I would do that.

My OEM axles got water in the joints and started clicking before I noticed the boots were bad. around 150k miles. These are remans from Advanced auto sold under the Carquest brand. Lifetime warranty, so I just swap em if they fail or the boots go bad. I'm tempted to put good boots on these, bu that would void the warranty. They lasted 70 and 90k miles each. So 6 years or so and they'll likely need replacing again.

Oh no man that's not cool!

Metal fab and such is a skill set I've acquired with farming for 13 years but it's just the time factor. Aluminum is the way to go for sure so I may have to just work on making the rack an hour at a time. I would flip on the rust! As I'm sure you are on your white truck.

Yeah I'm definitely not happy about it but I figured it would happen based on the reviews. We'll see how bad it gets. But like you, I needed something for this trip and didn't have much time. Every roof basket I saw is designed to mount to crossbars, not directly to a camper shell. And it sucks because the price difference on most of these products goes from acceptable to ridiculous. I'm not spending a grand on a prinsu rack. I can live with the rust unless it gets really bad. I spray my truck off all the time anyways.

As far as how simple the job is (I'm sure this is posted elsewhere):
    1. Jack up and support vehicle
    2. Remove wheel
    3. remove hub cover
    4. remove cotter pin and retaining collar
    5. remove axle nut
    6. unbolt lower ball joint from spindle (avoids breaking the ball joint loose from the LCA)
    7. swing spindle out of the way and pull old CV axle out. May have to unbolt the brake or ABS sensor lines to get enough slack. May have to use a bar and hammer on the inner joint housing at the front diff to tap the joint loose. It's held in with a small C-clip.
    8. install new CV axle, lubing the C-clip end may help pop it in, I used a dead blow hammer to convince it to go to it's new home.
    9. work backwords through above steps until everything is reassembled.
    10. Check front diff fluid level as some may drain out during the process. Add as needed.

Not the big one out west. :( My wife has to go to a bachelorette trip in Holland MI so I'm going to drop her off and go explore and camp with the dogs. After her girls thing is over we may venture up to the UP but it's another 7 hours. My wife can't even get off work so she's just bringing her laptop.

I'll have to invest more money for us to go out west. It's just not comfortable back there with the 4 of us. I would love to get a Vagabond but $$$!

My wife wanted to but I was hoping to not go past Utah. That's a lot of driving and CA's gun laws are awful. I'm not sure if I can even pass through with an unloaded magazine above 10 rounds. Pretty sure it would be illegal. I don't own any 10 round magazines.

I think its in the works to allow larger than 10 round mags, but that still hasnt been decided. I need to get out of CA one of these days but Ive been here all my life.

The 9th circuit judges ruled CA's magazine ban is unconstitutional since it makes the overwhelming majority of magazines illegal. I'm not sure what will happen next but it's a step in the right direction.

and of corse I installed them wrong to begin with, then realized I sandwiched them wrong. Trimming the cowl wasn’t bad, everything fits nice and tight!

Good info, I've been wanting to pick up a couple of their $60 smart relays, one for the '12 Highlander, one for my Tundra. Hopefully it's a decent markdown.

Yeah, some languages aren't adapting to the current 'very fluid' gender environment. But Spanish, fortunately, gives some semblance of options considering how machismo misc Latin-based culture can be in some cases. ala

Well CSF can’t do anything about the radiator. So it’s going back. Called around and I’m going to pay a pretty penny, but I’m going to go with a custom 2 row all aluminum radiator. All to avoid buying a Chinese made radiator because they love to fail when you need the vehicle most.

Nice. I’d love to see more stuff made back here in the USA. The prices would come down with more competition. How much is your custom radiator setting you back?
