Do I buy that or 303? Another on here swears by Griots Garage Trim Restorer. Problem is they all return back to faded plastic so the effort is futile? :notsure:

I use the 303 on everything plastic, vinyl, and rubber. Its a great product and does need reapplications. 303 has the UV Protect and goes a long way with a little. I ended up solving my exterior black trim fade by painting it all. No way to solve the trim fade long term without paint. Lots of work to paint with tape offs and masking, but well worth it after its done (less than $40 for paint and tapes).

As someone who marketed JL and JBL stuff as their primary, I'd tell you JBL rarely puts their name on crap. There's a reason these trucks' premium system carried the JBL badge, and why you still find premium JBL systems in 'yotas to this day

I'm having the same dilemma and plan to get some of the Griot's soon after seeing a recent post here. I've got some on order but it won't be at the shop until Monday.

But overall: Your issue is apples/oranges. Two different purposes: 303 protects from additional sun damage, your stuff is already grey from sun-damage! Ultimate Black helps saturate greyed plastics to make them look darker and less oxidized and protects them from further damage.

Ultimate Black WILL NOT turn your plastics "black" again, or much less anything beyond a very deep-dark grey to be honest. It's not BFM (black f'ing magic). They'll just saturate your plastics with compounds to make the plastic appear less oxidized and protect them from further damage.

Would it make a huge difference in your plastics? Hell yeah, your plastics are white-grey as can be, and Ultimate Black will get them looking lustrous and dark grey again versus whitish-grey. After, you may want to apply 303 in the future to protect against UV damage.

Someone remind next Tuesday to post pictures of my trim. We'll have several heavy rains between last Sunday & then, so We can all compare/contrast 20200712_181200.jpg how the Griots held for me. My plastics were better than @MNtundra, but lets see how the Griots handle the rain.

Use @Tundra2 trim tape off pics as a guide. You’ll need blue tape to cut into the trim and some thin plastic masking to go out farther and protect. There are plenty of trim paints out there. One is called SEM that @empty_lord used. I’ve used Rustoleum Matte Black a few years ago on my side door trims and that held nicely. Sprayed all my other trim last year with Rustoleum Bed Liner including the side trims so everything matches.

Tape off (lots of work), wipe down, wipe with Alcohol, and spray. I’ve done mine in a long day, but you could break it down in two days or do a little at a time. The mud flaps are an easy start and will give the most impressive result as they are the most faded usually.

If you are going to be painting your trim you should not use any trim restore prior to paint as it will affect your adhesion.

Tried to replace my small instrument panel lights with LED, I have the green t5 led bulbs, but the bases I bought don't fit. Can someone link to what worked for them?

Dropped her off to get the 4.56's and front locker installed.

Also, depending on the price, hopefully get the cracked welds in the exhaust fixed!

I am trying to remember as its been a while. The bulbs I bought came with separate bases that fit right in with a twist. The bulb pushed into the separate base and the bulb plus base twisted into the instrument panel. White or maybe a brown belt move at best.

You are dropping the fan, yes? Three torx screws. That last screw sucks. I replaced the torx with a phillips head cause I have a phillips head screwdriver that is much shorter than my torx.

Are you putting in a filter? Cause I found that location did not work for me...

I use a hex wrench instead of the torx. Either way their are three bolts. My hex is a stubby screw driver so it fits on that back bolt.

Stick your hose gun up the blower hole and blast short bursts. Takes Sensei Skills Technique but you got this!

Hows it look in there? I stuck my phone up the blower hole and took some pics before spraying. You can also see through the resistor hole with the eyeball and small flash light.
