OH I been gone for a little bit. Finally decided to focus on the vehicles here at home since I'm still on furlough. Both needed tires and tpms plus she needed the front rims to be replaced. After some research with cost in mind I dug up on faceless marketplace a full set of 370Z Ray's forged rims with nearly new Conti tires and the guy threw in some Lexus tpms. $800. Then I got lucky, found 20" rims and tires for the old girl. Off of a 2006 Sequoia that was rear ended and totaled. The tires still have the hair on them. Dunlop 275/55/20 $1,000. Power stop rear brake kit installed, wheel alignment and a bath. Now on to the next group of issues

I wasn't sure about sticking the 370Z rims with the 275/35 19 tire under the rear of the Lexus, almost all IS owners upgrade to 265 but.... It fit. Wired thing is, original tires were run flat Potenza, car road like shit. Low profile 18's 225/40 F 255/40 R runflats are to hard. Switched to Continentals DW summer, car smoothed out a lot but still firm. Now 255/35/19 F 275/35/19 R and car now feels softer, I can actually feel the suspension doing it's job. The 19" tires are Continentals also but I think they are DWS. Doesn't make sense

I run the continental dws on my ls460 and love the tire. I had to go to a proxes on the front because I had a puncture in my sidewall and there was a backorder and def didn't ride as nice!

I'm on 295/25/22 on rear. Def not as comfy as stock!!

Did you finish of with the cotter pin and shield thingy? Those are some pretty looking axles.

Rebuilt engine w/265K miles, A.R.E. camper shell (w/cab pass-through, rooftop fan, and side windows delete), bedlinered steel ladder rack (w/wooden rooftop deck and hammock mount), all LED lights (red dash, 4" side floods, 32" rear bar), Android head unit, 1.5" lift from Bilstein 5100 struts, 32" DuraTrac tires on factory rims, 1.5" wheel spacers, Moog suspension parts, SuperSprings leaf kit, diff drop, Reese trailer brake control, GoRhino Hitch Step, debadged, F-150 rear bumper, Sequoia center console unit upgrade, partial rear bench seat delete, dashcam, aftermarket speakers, 50% sound deadening coverage, custom tools unit.
I hope you take before and after deciple readings, as I'm assuming your goal is to make the horn louder. Excited for the install.

Glad you're here. I freaking love those rims. Never seen them but will now begin the search to find some. I'm going for that work truck feel.

I have no decibel reader, but will inform if its a noticeable improvement. Going to add just one horn (the high noted per @NUDRAT suggestion) at first. Make sure I don’t zzzttt! the system, then add the low noted. Should be a low cost mod for anyone if it works.

Edit: If anything, just cleaning up the contacts makes me feel better.

Yeah. I had ordered new cotter pins but must have picked the wrong part # as they are way too short. So I just reused the original. I still have to tap the dust cover back on. Tomorrow I'll order 8 new LBJ bolts.

Bought mine a bit over a week ago and wanted to tackle some mods to make a long road trip this week a bit more comfortable. It's definitely been keeping me busy.
Put Bilstein 5100s on all 4 corners. Put them on the second clip with oem springs which got me about an inch of lift in the front. Not as much rake now and it feels much more planted. Got an alignment done and that small of a lift didn't impact them getting everything in spec.
I wasn't a huge fan of the cloth bench seat in the front, but I lucked out and found some leather seats at a local salvage yard. A bit worn, but much more comfortable and way easier to clean dog hair off of. The plug on the driver side was already set up for the power controls and went right in. The passenger side needed the plug off the original seat.
Also threw in a new pioneer stereo(DMH-2660NEX) so I can have bluetooth and a backup camera. Tracking down a reverse signal wire was a bit of a pain, but ended up finding one in the harness going through the floor under the driver seat. It was red with a black stripe and little silver dots. I don't have the JBL system, but had a factory amp to bypass. It was in the dash directly beneath the stereo. The screen is definitely much brighter than it looks in the picture.
Lastly I decided to put in some HID projectors. I went with the D2S 5.0 from TRS. I've done this on a few vehicles now and the Tundra was stupid easy. The projectors I got are square shaped, but the shrouds they sent are round. With a big trip coming I don't have time to wait for replacements, but the look doesn't bother me. I don't have any pictures of the output, but it is substantial. Night and day difference from the oem halogen bulbs. I'd like to do ditch lights at some point, but these offer a much wider beam than I had before.

The pictures don't do it justice. I'm 6'2. The pile was probably 7 inches taller than me.

Broke out the temp gun out of curiosity, last reading before overloading was 685°F on the peripherals, NOT the coal bed which was substantially hotter.

Roasted marshmallows, and then used our new, and improved Kaizen. Fudge grahams instead of Graham and chocolate. Pretty good.
    Drank beer. Listened to music.

    Loongie Supreme-o

Regarding your tendencies, if this place were mine you would be welcome. Lets burn shit,
and release all the pyro tendencies.

On topic though, today I went for a little drive for "Smo's stuffs," and other vittles.

Checked my codes. P0420 returned, but not my shift solenoid "E" code. Thought that was odd. I drove roughly 75 miles round trip. All the other times I've cleared that one its come back before this.

The “new spot” that sounds......intriguing! But the answer is yes, yes I’ll burn some shit. Early on, in Boy Scouts it’s where I learned my love for flames probably. Shoot we got a “card” for fire building. Went to a couple of campories; won some fire building comps, got a “hot head” and it’s been all downhill from there.
Also “LOG CABIN” is the best fire starter; change my mind!

Uncle bought 7 acres of land with 2 houses and a few building on it. Going to restore the 2 houses and the barn. Barns going to be turned into a massive shop I’ve got free access to it if I supply the equipment in it and help restore it

Hopefully close to home? Is all your family pretty close, and pretty close in geography? That’s always a good thing!
I miss living with my cousin, but it probably keeps the bank account fuller. He has a awesome machine shop with anything you could ever need or want. He helped do a 3” SS exhaust on my 4.9l I6 F150, helped me make a sink basket strainer install tool from a hunk of aluminum billet. A prerunner bumper for my 88 ranger. I miss him and his wife(she was a great cook)

I'd be inquiring about that front bench seat, but 37 hours / 2,513 miles +/-. LOL. I think I'm the only guy here likes a bench in a truck.
Good work there, hope the trip goes well.

I came from a 05 taco with a bench, then to a 4runner, which the captains chairs are terrible; to the 06 bench seat........I don’t mind/hate it at all! I haven’t used the full front bench, but I like it. I don’t know if I could get much more use out of captains chairs or not.

I was in scouts also, eagled out when I was 15. Everyone that started scouts with me dropped out before eagling. The 2 fumes got them "perfume, and gas fumes." (Girls, and cars. Lol go figure.)

Everyone ALWAYS asked me to help them with their fires. We were camping at "Gaylords cubworld, and BSA camp" Boxwell specifically. We all got in on our 1st day, and that night it rained like hell ALL night. The next morning I was up bright, and early with a fire. We were the only troop in the whole camp that day with a fire.

Me being "prepared" I had stashed enough sticks/kindling/etc. in my tent the day before because I knew rain was coming. Once I had my fire going i was using it to dry out all the wet shit to feed it. Fire, and water are my two loves.

Okay, I'll shut up. I'm drunk, and need not be on the flrum.
