Did 4 coats on the top, 4 on the drawer faces, and 2 on the bottom. My son was playing with water on the back porch and got it on my bottom panel. Very happy to see how the water just beads up!

I'm going to try to take some time after work to start assembly!

 

I guess I need to clean up my side yard. A neighbor came by and told me that he was moving, and that he liked my rear bumper that he had seen me making, he had an old jeep bumper that he wanted to know if I wanted for the scrap to make another whatever. I declined. Apparently I have a junk yard going on over there. It only consists of some nice pieces of mesquite wood I plan on burning, the bedliner out of the tundra(I’m hoping someone could use it), the bumper(I plan on bartering with it to a local real junkyard for some headlights or something else), skid plate(after I finish rebooting oem half shafts I’ll put it back on), a gallon of oil/water mix that I’m letting seperate, and some random toy trucks that my son has over there. Oh and a oak wine barrel for a project and kiddos school. Oh well, it will keep growing!

 

We have a collection as well of old beaters that are too far gone from deer. Once we get up to about 4 or 5 we call a salvage scrap place. They pay YOU to come get YOUR shit. No hassle on my end. Maybe a marred up yard, but call em in the summer time when the ground is hard as concrete, and its all kosher.

2 old campers I need to just set on fire, or have the scrap company come "collect" and 2 old sheds.

 

Reminds me of living with pop before he got the black lung.

 

I've got a lot of things in the bed of my tundra at all times. I've got a chest and a toolbox both weighing about 80lbs each, on board air, chairs, a shovel, and a million other little things.

I was expecting to tell them about the extra weight, but they seemed in a rush and hung up pretty quick after taking my money. I'm not mad though I guess.

I guess I didn't quote the reply quite right. I was talking about how I only got 1" of lift from the Deaver pack.

 

It has been brought to my attention that I look like Larry the lobster.

In my defense I did put on sunscreen today, but upon getting home I learned it had expired two years ago. I even have the outline of my sunglasses on my face. The lake makes a great reflector.

Also, for your imagination my hair is even like the last gif. It always has been. I get it cut, and in less than a month its grown back out to a full head of "bed head" I wake up, and brush it up out of my way. Then I can start the day.

Kroil, grease, dirt, air, and sun are all good for me hairs. (Some in small doses.)

Stepped out to the truck, turned her over, and waited. Once she was up to temp I cranked the AC on high, and pointed it at my arms.
Ac feels real nice! I can even see my breath. Super fantastic!

 

When I was young I never burned. Somewhere in my early 30s my skin seemed to forget how to handle the sun and now I tend to burn pretty easily at the start of Summer. Man I miss my youth.

 

@Darkness I have been working night shift 330-350ish days a year for 4-5 years.

In my youth I was constantly bronze. I am pasty now. My hair is brown now, but in my youth I was sun bleached blond at all times.

The "Rona" is the only reason I have seen sun in that time. I am glad for this burn, as it feels good to me. Been a long time coming.

 

With all this talk of sunburning, it makes me think about a natural herbal remedy Chief Sundowner advised all us little Indians to use. Maybe someday I’ll reformulate it and sell it on Big Gurrl and get rich. Until then, I recco you guys just shelter indoors until JC comes back.

 

I have been sitting for so many weeks now that when I went to try and work my Sprinter is battery is just dead. Not a simple jump usually either and in pouring rain of course.

So I started moving stuff into the old Tundra and away I went!

So what I did Today was fire the old girl up and start making money with her again!

It is easy to forget how terrific these trucks are day to day when in the presence of all the new Shiney!

Yep. You sold me. A few people said spending this much on sliders was insane. I can respect that. But there really aren't many options for our trucks(3 to be exact) and I can't find anyone around here that would even weld the Brute Force Fab sliders to my frame for a reasonable amount. One shop quoted $600 and that was before I knew the legs on BFF are not already welded. I reached out to another shop 2 hours away and they wouldn't even quote me a price.

I went ahead and placed my order with White Knuckle. I opted for bare metal and .120 DOM to save some money. Their workmanship looks really good from the pictures and you're the 2nd member to be happy with them. So now the wait begins for my sliders and my new bumper.

I do have one question, what drill bit did you use? Someone previously recommended

I decided to keep the truck out and drive it to work today since I spent all day Sunday cleaning it (she usually parks under the pole barn during the week). I made a stop on the way home and on my way out of the store this guy was waiting on me next to my truck . He paid compliments and asked me a few questions then offered to buy it from me. Of course I'm not looking to sell it, I let him know that and he threw out a $15,000 offer; he said it is exactly what he's looking for. I said thanks but no thanks and he upped it to $16,500. I mean the dude hasn't even sat in the truck! I again said no thanks but he gave me his business card just in case I changed my mind. He said he wants one with less than 70k miles...

While that's a lot of money I keep thinking what I would replace it with and I refuse to pick up a car loan with all the crazy going on. And I need to keep a truck around the house that I can make trips to Lexington KY (~1000 miles round trip) with and not worry.

I'm sure this sort of thing has happened to a lot of folks here but that was the first offer I've rec'd. I almost feel crazy for keeping it but where would I be without it? These trucks are hard to replace - especially clean, low mile Limited 4WD DBL cabs.

Anyway, that's what me and the Tundra did today! Please share any stories you have.

 

Nice. I would have said it yours! Nah. I would have done the same as you did. Nuts what those extra Ridgeline 4th doors do to the price tag.

Saw a DC 2006 pop up here a few weeks ago and its gone from the listing of which was $15,500. It had low sub 100k miles.

I paid a few hundred more than his final offer for my one owner, rust free with a stack of records DC with 84K miles in Jan '19....and I got it from a dealer...I was ecstatic with that deal even though it was ALOT of money for a 13 yo truck. I still feel like I got lucky as hell to find it. No regrets and there is not a vehicle of similar value I can think of I would trade it straight up for...and not that many of higher value.

 

I'm not honestly sure what bits I used, they were some that I had laying around. I ended up using additional sizes compared to what they recommended, just to make it easier on my drill. Using some type of lubrication was also super helpful.

 

That is a tempting offer but I really want to try to keep my truck going forever and into the ground. I have no desire to sell this thing. I picked my 01 4x4 about a year and half ago for $9000 with 76,000 miles on it. Rust free and manual transmission. I found it on craigslist and went the next day to purchase it. 12 other people were interested in this truck and wanting to come see it. I think I got pretty lucky with it.

Threw a tailgate assist on. Pretty simple. Had to drill two holes though. Have a video. Just gotta figure out how to upload it if you guys want. You can’t let the tailgate down by itself but it makes it only feel about 4-5lbs.

Took her to the mountains today. Aired down and went until there was too much snow in the road. The Deavers definitely help.
