What have you done to your 1st gen Tundra today?

Pssh. I wish mine was $1800. I'm up around $5k. And that's just to get it back to factory specs!

 

The number one item on my list, which I've been obsessing over for years, is a Four Wheel Camper. The 8' Grandby shell model. Only $12 grand. I want one so bad I'm considering selling my built '88 4Runner.

 

I was wondering what items were so expensive and that explains it. You have the best platform for it, loooong bed. Looked into them but not worth it for my 6’ bed and not enough payload. I’ll stick to my Tepui.

 

How much do you want for the 4runner? Asking for a friend...

 

Luckily the previous owner added add-a-leaves and regeared it. These campers aren't light. That's why I'm going with the shell model. Only about 900 pounds. Plus I still have to tow the sandrail.

 

Hmmm... I haven't checked the market lately. What are low mileage, super clean, rust free, geared, locked(1), armored, two owner, 30 year old 1st Gen 4Runners goin for lately? Plus most of the parts to SAS it.

 

900lb is still pretty high for our platforms. Great choice though, all you need and nothing else.

My wish list sit around 5k. Which wouldn't be so bad except for I already have put 10k into it within the last 2 and 1/2 years. I think I have to get the wife a new car before I'm allowed to spend anymore money on my truck.

 

My wishlist is pushing 10K Canuckistan pesos....

Hit some trails today with a buddy, pavement only since the rain has made all the dirt trails muddy. Hate the guys that still ride on the dirt trails when its muddy and messes it up when it dries. Maybe one day ill switch these bikes out for some dirtbikes

Picked up one of these, wanted one for years.


Along with that, picked up a box of these. Don't think the tiny ones will be used for anything but the 4 biggest sizes already have jobs in mind.

Yup, not leaving anything alone this time around. Might even pick up new bump stops.

 

I was able to put the wheelers superbumps to a few test hits this weekend down in the Ozarks NF. So far, so good! They’ve really padded the front from coming to a HAULT on hard hits..

 

What coilovers you running and how do you like them?

 

@Rheywood456 are you running the spacer on that bump? If so is it the 3/8th? I was considering the 1/4".

 

Crawled under the truck for inspection of the power steering post and also to look at this double cardan joint again. Greased that hidden zerk inside the H. Two pumps and grease squeezed out the center hole. It looked clean. I’ll post more over on my other thread in General Discussion on ‘Double Cardan Joint?’

 

Replaced both of my broken rear window latches. The new replacement's holes were little too small so I did have to drill them out.

 

Ordered some parts. Stealerships wants $245 for carrier bearing. Hahaha. This thing is OEM. Think Wells makes the Toy switches but they only say OE.

I’m running Icon 2.5s w/ 650lb spring.

They’re great. About 1.5 years on them now. 100x better than Bilstein 5100s...

 

No spacers used on the superbumps.

Thinking about removing my door trim since the passenger door is mismatched. Anybody do this before? Does it look better without it?



Also probably going to remove the flares and mud flaps.
