has anyone put pod lights in the fog light spot? Might be a cool upgrade and i dont really like the exposed pods

 

I was thinking of doing something like that too, as I dont have the foglights installed in my bumper. Just the plastic inserts my truck came with.

 

@jImmegart has an 03 with the spot type fogs.

Yours has the sweet OG OEM fog assy of 00-02 years which are perfect candidates for plug and play junkyard specials for cheap. These assys have a superb fog beam pattern. The wiring should be all there already, but you just need the used parts and the fitment will be right on.

 

Yes you are correct. I do have the wiring and adapter plug already there waiting to get some fog lights attached. But every time I get to the junkyard the bumper or fogs have already been snagged, haha. Hopefully I can get some of those eventually!

 

Do a nationwide search at all the junkyards. They usually ship for free or at a small cost. Fogs should be ‘free’ shipping due to lightness.

Working nights I ordered fog light assembly, but that's basically I all did. Living with my ex at the time made a junkyard trip near impossible. Lol

Ordered foglight relay, and OEM button. $$

Worth it to me for the OEM look.

 

My windshield has split almost all the way across right in my line of sight.

Another 5 to 6 inches and it will be from corner to corner. Lol

Prerunner badging on the Tacoma’s? It just means it’s 2wd, but a lot of the 1st gen prerunner tacos came with a elocker

but karmas truck isn’t 2wd, I think he’s calling his that due to the long travel front end build, what he’s using it for “prerunning”

Changed my plugs today with Denso’s are not only did the previous owner put crappy autolites in which we’re gapped all to hell but 2 of the cylinders were barely hand tight! Literally spun in the threads when I put the socket on.

Truck started amazing I’m hoping this helps with my gas mileage.

 

As toasty states, the prerunner badging on the Tacoma and the general usage of the term are two different things. The Tacoma badging I have no idea, and I can attempt to explain the other if that's your question.

Well just prerunner in general. I have seen tacomas with prerunner badging, 4runners, and I have a vague memory of seeing it on something else but not sure what it was.

 

Tacoma prerunner is a 2x4 Tacoma with 6lug axles and a 4x4 chassis.

 

only tacoma prerunners exist. anything else isnt factory.

Thanks, mean a lot coming from the professional model! I used all rustoleum products. The primer not shown was like the black can. And on the toy emblem, it was easy! I just colored it in with a silver sharpie after it dried and gave it another shot of clear.

 

I really like that High Performance Enamel. I used it on my exterior trim a few years ago (matte) before finally converting to their Rustoleum Bed Liner product.

I used most of the last of my High Performance Enamel on my spindles and brake shields etc. just recently.

Hoping not to paint anything for quite some time at this point. If necessary, I have some el cheapo gloss black scored in a garage find a while back for chassis touch ups. Ceramic High Heat Black works good too, but used all that up on my brake calipers. Inventory is low and I’m fine with that!

I spent 10 minutes watching the tech here take my door panel off. It was painful. He swapped out the window, and I spent another 25 minutes watching this guy try to mount the door panel on from the bottom up. I finally asked if he wanted some help. He explained "Sir, I got this. I've probably done 10,000 of these."

I said "Okay, but the door panel mounts from the top down. Top window track goes in first."

He had it mounted correctly in 2.5 seconds. I'm gonna have to verify everything when I get home. No longer confident in this.

Replaced serp belt and idler pulley today and the squealing noise is gone! Figured I'd rust-oleum the skid plate while it was off and it looks clean. Noticed my coolant was low, would Prestone 50/50 yellow from my 04 Camry suffice or should I stick with the red stuff?

 

If you've got red, I'd stick with red.

I've got green/yellow in mine because it was what I had available. One day I'll do a flush, and purge. Swap out to Toyota quality.

 

50/50 Asian Red by Zerex. Its the best because it has Phosphate additives. Priced well at $17 a gallon and ticks all the Japanese Auto requirements. Your Camry may need the Red, too.
