Taking a methodical approach to my brakes based on recent bleedings showing some black debris. Assuming it to be deteriorated rubber from original rubber flex lines and/or caliper piston rubbers.

    Ordered 4 new brake lines.

Plan is to get these new lines installed first, drive her for a few weeks, and then rebuild the front calipers and rear cylinders shortly thereafter. Scientific Method Style Technique.

Installed my ECGS bushing and new axle seal today. Thanks to @FrenchToasty for loaning me the tool. For an amateur DIY guy it wasn’t too bad of a job. Getting the CV axle out and back in solo is a little tricky, a second set of hands would be real helpful with those steps!

Sorry I'm late to mention it, but I used a giant zip tie around the spline end to the outer most strut mount bolt. It held the main part of the shaft straight, so I could knock it out solo.

I used my handy jack stand and a block of wood to kinda cradle it as it came out. We all skin cats differently, I love it!

I ended up using a bungee cord hooked to the coil spring to hold it parallel to the ground.

    all good methods!

The 20 or so times I've done it, wrap the CV in a rag and loop a bungee around it and pull it up into the fender well. You knock it out and it sort of stays there, mostly suspended, without scratching anything or tearing a boot.
I really got good at this when cycling my suspension when I was messing with the geometry. I didn't want to scratch the pretty shocks or tear those brand new boots.

Is this only for certain years? I've not had any recall notices.

Thats because the 2002 year was ranked the best in terms of ownership cost amongst all the 1st Gen Class.

Not speaking for Fester but the latest that affects our year(2004 DC) was a FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG INFLATOR MODULE for certain 2003 – 2006 model years that came out in Oct 2019.

And if, like me you have curtain air-bags, there is one for that too...

I wish I had curtain airbags. Were they standard on DC's or just an option?

They were an option...I just lucked out, as I would have bought it regardless...but I'm glad to have them.

Mine is the same but they are apparently replacing both driver and passenger under the recall.

When I had mine performed in Oct, they may have mentioned that but don't recall. It's my understanding is that the Oct 2019 was a recall of the recall that I had performed in later part of 2018. Hopefully they get it right or have gotten it right finally. Don't want to ever have to need it but when I do need it, work properly :amen:

I'm comparing it to roll-on or brush-on bed liner I've seen applied to beds, body parts, and entire trucks. The rolled/bushed-on has a much more severe texture -- it looks almost furry and not very uniform. The Duplicolor goes on even and just has a mild texture to it. I don't get the feeling it would stand up to abrasion like a professional bed liner, but I don't expect my bumper will be subject to much abrasion -- just the occasional bump or scuff. The Duplicolor also seems like it would be easy to touch-up in the event of a more substantial mishap. (although that's speculative since I haven't had to do any touch-up)

My interior color code is FD11 (it's a light gray). I am trying to find spray paint to touch up a trim piece. Can anyone point me in the right direction.

@oscardog86 Looks like there is a 2003 in chula vista that showed up today. It looks like it has the TRD 4runner wheels

That will be sweet. I know that wasn't cheap. I priced out new ones a few years ago and didn't realize how much they cost. Some guy out there is probably looking for a long bed camper and will be happy when he comes across your listing. There likely isn't many of those out there.

I didn't realize how much they cost either... long tube headers for the 2007 will have to wait.

Ya its like 1hr and 40 from me and all I want is a black rear bumper but I can barley see it. Anyone in san diego area there is a tundra with trd pros in the chula vista west junk yard. If someone goes, let me know if the rear bumper is factory painted or sprayed after! It came up today so everything should be there.

Tried some carguys plastic trim restorer on the flaps, bumper step cover, and mirror. The flaps didn't seem to come out very well so might need to paint them? Not sure how to make them dark again, but I dont except this stuff to last very long.

Noticed the pass side door courtesy lights not coming on yesterday at Dereks Center.

Pulled the 1 year new Wells Door Switch off for inspection. The OEM tape around the plastic wire base had shrunk loose inside the door and the inside metal friction tab was not full contact. Put some electric grease in the slot and taped up the connector. Switch Operates Flawlessly!

    Stoked!

Cancelled last nights brake lines flawed order. Placing another order via Wheelers tonight per @FirstGenVol recco. All the nuts are 10mm btw with exception of one 14mm? on the rear hose at the ‘tee’ above the rear diff.

Cleaned up the brake flare nuts and put some penetration oil on them in prep for next weeks hose replacement. Nothing wrong with the hoses now. Brakes seem fine to me now. Nothing ‘overly’ spongey at the pedal. Actually feels nice as ever since the fluid bleedings coupled with the parking brake cable tuned in. Doing this for prevent maintenance with a side benefit of slightly better pedal feel per reviewers. Better braking?

Ordered up the rear drum brake cylinders rebuild kit at Stealership. I’ll reconsider plans on the front calipers once everything above is dialed in. May just rebuild the WE’s to keep cost down. The pads/rotors are less than 14k miles old.

    Truck is driving sweetly.
