If it's the seal, the needle bearing could still be good? But if you're replacing the seal, might as well change to to egcs bushing?

Coroplast sheets work great. I cut sections to fit the holes and covered it over with metal tape. Outline it with a market and easy removal with a razorblade.

That was my next question, if I'm going to pull the CV and remove the seal should I just go for the ECGS bushing while I'm at it?

Can I get in line for that special tool floating around??

    Just bought it.
New shoes today! Helo 17" rims with 275/70/17 Falken Wildpeak AT's. Also in the last week, step bar, lift/level with new control arm supports. The build is making progress! Next up is undercoating. Then figuring out what I want to do with the bed. A cage or a topper. Or nothing! Bumpers after that. Then a wrap to finish it off.

Since I was sitting in front of me I put the arb diff breather in the truck... need to run the hoses to it but found a nice spot with a factory hole that clears the hood and is up nice and high. [IMG]

Trans and t case are on top of the transmission. I’d rather just have it up higher with a free flowing breather. Front diff is by the driver side upper control arm. Rear is where it is on all Toyota’s

Ah, thats kinda crappy. I haven't really dug around on these. I'll wind up extending the trans/tcase/front diff to then. Just did the rear.

There are 2 breathers in that location. What's the 2nd one for? I pulled the ends off both and cleaned them out. They were a little dirty but not horrible.

I’m going to try and t those 2 together and run them as one line up to the breather. Run the add t up higher than the diff so if the diff overflows for w/e reason there’s less chance of gear oil getting in the actuator

Well, ECGS bushing didn’t fix the vibes. I bought a diff drop kit and a u joint. Gonna install the u joint tomorrow maybe, but the diff drop kit doesn’t sho up until Sunday, so I’ll install that then.

when are you getting the vibration? on acceleration, off pedal coast? good chance since your frame was swapped that the center bearing is toast

(Camper conversion underway.) Rebuilt engine w/265K miles, A.R.E. camper shell (w/cab pass-through, rooftop fan, and side windows delete), bedlinered steel ladder rack (w/wooden rooftop deck and hammock mount), all LED lights (red dash, 4" side floods, 32" rear bar), Android head unit, 1.5" lift from Bilstein 5100 struts, 32" DuraTrac tires on factory rims, 1.5" wheel spacers, Moog suspension parts, SuperSprings leaf kit, diff drop, Reese trailer brake control, GoRhino Hitch Step, debadged, F-150 rear bumper, Sequoia center console unit upgrade, partial rear bench seat delete, dashcam, aftermarket speakers, 50% sound deadening coverage, custom tools unit.
I've been frequenting the site for a year and just joined. Figured I'd post in this thread first!

After months of searching, I finally found a full center console unit at the scrapyard from an '04 Tundra for about $20. Today I finished the restoration, take a look.

    It needed some TLC:

With generous elbow grease, a few pieces, and a spray paint job to make the original Stone Grey match my black interior accents:

    Old console (now for sale):

New console freshly installed and lookin' sharp:

I love having more storage and room for future buttons, controllers, radios, you name it. Toyota's website now flags the mounting brackets as no longer sold, so it was luck in finding most of the needed parts at the 'yard! A new hinge and the drop-in organizer are on the way from eBay. While I had the old console off I cleaned out 20-year-old bugs and rolled Noico sound deadening on to the transmission hump as well as the console itself (the latter will make negligible difference). In the end, paint didn't lay down as perfectly as I hoped, despite prepping with alcohol and laying down many light coats and clear coat, but I think the job was still a success.
