We just strapped in and went at it, learned as you went. It wasn't until I was going for my SCCA license that I had someone sit in with me. Those days are long gone though, if anything I'll scoop up a little miata and go auto-x that thing, but more than likely not.

While we don't make them specific, the DECKED system can be modified to fit in the 1st Gen Tundra.

The issue will be at the back by the tailgate. The reason that we haven't made a DECKED for the 1st gen Tundra is because the tailgate opening is so narrow that it comes VERY close to the ammo cans in the rear. We would have to change our mold if we wanted to make it work there. You can however trim the plastic at the rear right up the edge of the ammo can. While we don't guarantee this will work, it has been done many times. If you search around the internet, you will find this.

Can you tell us which models are the closest for our trucks so we know which ones to start with? I realize it's only a suggestion and any modifications will likely void warranty applications...thanks.

Yeah. Like pre-101 stuff! They work from plain all the way through to powdered donuts and back again.

Most people think that's an antenna on a cops personal radio. But it's really a donut holster.

Thanks! I'm curious how much lift you'll actually get after install. I know the specs say 2.5 at the lowest setting, but I always wondered how that works since the spring length is the same as stock.

I haven't researched this enough to know if it works with our Tundras, but the Andy Mod 2.0 does what you're wanting (turns off VSC while keeping ABS) on late 90's and early 2000's Tacomas and 4Runners. There's so much crossover among these vehicles that it's likely to work -- and certainly worth investigating.
If you don't care about keeping ABS, the original Andy Mod is also in that link.

Ok, seriously considering interior black out on the tundra. Should I do it all black or do a charcoal headliner and pillars like some factory Toyota’s?

That’s what I’m thinking. Might toy around with trd red accents in the interior too so it isn’t too black

Looking for advice. Jacked up front today for steering rack install and got distracted by a shiny object. Spun front wheels. Pass side had a decent spin. Driver not so. Could hear dragging on both, though.

On drivers side, I made a mark with my finger on both rotors and spun one revolution. Results: The finger mark was erased after one revolution. See pictures.

Dropped her and went about a mile drive. Jacked her back up and still the same resistance.

are the spreader springs installed on the pads? Is the pas moving freely in the caliper? Those are things to check. If crud has built up and the pad is sticking to the caliper you’ll get slight drag. Same if the clip isn’t installed

Not sure as I haven’t taken wheel off today.

Brakes are new hand model territory. I’m down with doing a clean up on these front calipers. I’m planning on a brake bleed of all wheels, as well. Need materials and labor advice info. Pads and rotors are a 1.5 years (12k miles) old installed by others.

There shouldn't be much drag but I think the pads touching the disc is normal.

Check the temperature of the disk with a laser thermometer after driving. See if both sides are close to the same

Ok. The pass side freely spins, but the finger shmear test shows it rubs off. You can hear a slight rub.

Driver side spins with resistance, but isn’t hard to spin. Its stops its free spin faster though. You can hear resistance.

All good suggestions so far. A little drag is normal. The only thing moving the pad away from the disk is that little spring and natural vibration. Taking temps of both sides will tell you if there’s a discrepancy. Your fingers should be good enough for what should be cold brakes. (No hard braking before checking!) Also look for pad wear. Make sure the guide pins are clean and all the contact points have some brake lube. I haven’t rebuilt the calipers on my tundra yet, but have done several on my other car. Typically pretty easy. Emery or steel wool on the pistons to clean rust and gunk. New seals, etc.

I have no real opinion, but I am a huge fan of darker interiors on cars. I kind of wish my tundra had the grey/black interior because I don't really like the tan so much.

My tan is slowly turning black. Might as well just do a flat black interior.

might even try to rig up some Avalon heated and cooled seats in the sob. I really need a new hobby

I’ve got too much shit going on. Fixed and sold an 07 avalon, got a 2011 Camry I’m going to pickup Friday that needs a trans to turn around and sell once it’s fixed.. tundras going to have mod
    Money soon

Darker certainly looks nicer but my god does it get nasty. Every spec of anything shoes up. Kids or dogs, good luck.

Not my pic, but from internet of 04 Tundra.

Should these pistons be extended via braking at pedal and then lubed and then pushed back in for best lubing technique?

I only see people smearing grease on the outside rim mating surface, but not actually extending piston to grease as much of piston as possible before it is recessed back in.

I’ve only ever seen one out in the wild. They exist. But they’re rarer than a limited taco with a sunroof.

Also, my tacos wheels are going on the tundra tonight.
