Naw, I was just banned, it was blue. Also looking to extend my ban just to stand up to the man. Haven't figured out a good way to do it.

I did not make a build thread as most of this has already been done before. I will though give a lot credit and thanks to both https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCUSy1wA80Lv7qMOgdka0aUg and https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCUT6rJnW4qT6J6uQiv7KKxA. and of course general searches both on here and youtube. Please feel free to PM me, and I will help as much as possible. I will be creating tread for most of the items I will be adding in the near future.

Had another opportunity to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory yesterday. My ecgs bushing arrived so I tore the front end apart and got it back together in about 2.5-3 hrs with a break to feed the dogs and welcome the old lady and my copilot home. Everything went smoothly and I was able to inspect my suspension again for the warm fuzzies. I test drove it and it seemed good until o got home and was leaking oil out of the axle seal. It was leaking so bad that I actually had to think very hard and remember if I'd installed the new axle seal. I obviously installed it, but it was equally obvious I did something wrong. Still not sure what I did wrong so I guess I'll just tear it apart for the 30th or so time this year and play like the bear that walked up the mountain and see what I see.

Yuge thanks to @FrenchToasty for loaning me the needle bearing removal tool. I was stubborn enough to attempt to make one and having the tool really helped me get everything figured out in a timely manner.
New and improved drain plug now with more schmoo!

    IMG_20191209_172239.jpg
It was Campbells chunky needle bearing soup on the floor and around the axle seal area. I picked up what I could and used an air nozzle to clean out the rest. I'm a little worried about the prospect of my diff eating some needle bearing soup, but there's nothing to be done about that now. I guess my oil recycling system (massive oil leak) will help that.

Sounds about like me. I've waited a few days to see if it was where I spilled atf everywhere, but it's not. I'm leaking from somewhere. And all I did was drop the pan and reinstall. My rear wheel bearings are leaking again. My front brakes made a horrible noise after the WL swap. Oh, and I snapped a VC bolt off, and a trans filter bolt. I'm about done doing any more work/damage to my truck.

Clean really well with degreaser. Let dry. Soak the belt with the Silicone. I pulled the belt all the way out and let it retract whilst spraying. Do both sides of belt. Let dry and over the next few days the mojo comes back with a snap!

Just stick with playing with your wire nuts and leave the mechanical glory for the professional hand models. Speaking of which, I’m getting nervous about this steering rack bushing install. Anyone done this? Seems like the PS hard lines won’t have the 2-3” of pull out play needed to make things work.

I think you've got this. Did you already watch the videos online? It doesn't look that bad. If you can do the fuel injectors I'm confident you can do this. Much easier to see everything and a lot less stuff to move out of the way.

Do you mind explaining this for me? I'm not familiar at all with the inner workings of the front diff. The needle bearing is only on the driver side? Is this where the CV axle slides into the diff? And you replaced it with a better option, the ECGS bushing? I can only assume I'll have to do this one day. Other than pulling the CV out of the diff, what else is involved?

That’s a lot of missing needles!! Glad you got it out! I know my passenger oil seal isn’t holding but that’s because I did something to it. It’s annoying but at least it’s not to bad to put a new seal in.
@FirstGenVol if you’ve pulled your cv before it’s not much more than that. If you look up Timmy the tool man, on YT he does a install video of this bushing on a 4Runner, i referenced it a lot when I changed mine. Mine still had needles left, unlike karma Kannon

It's just on the driver's side (short side) of the axle. There's a needle bearing that supports the diff side of the CV. If you're leveled and have miles on your truck I'd replace it with the ecgs (east coast gear supply) bushing. That way you'll avoid your diff eating needle bearing soup. The bushing is supposed to replace the needle bearing and not fail. Good luck sealing the axle afterwards haha I guess I don't know how to do that one. Pulling the needle bearing I can do, and obviously I can't set an axle seal.

Thank you. Hopefully, I won't be making this repair anytime soon but I like knowing anything I can about these trucks. I see they have a removal tool and an install tool. Which one did you buy?
