How did all the frame mounts turn out/line up? Any bolts from the bottom going up into the frame?

Should be 3-4 total going through the side of the frame and 6 going through the bottom on each side. I'm using 1/2" grade 8 bolts with stainless nylock nuts on most of it with maybe 1 or 2 per side being 3/8" grade 8. I'll still make some changes to the mounts in the next few weeks in solidworks and maybe offer a kit if anyone is interested. In theory someone could use my mounts and a kit like this to make sliders for about any vehicle with a frame. http://shop-xo-fab-com.3dcartstores.com/80-DIY-Dom-Rock-Slider_p_1244.html

Got a letter from Toyota on Friday. It listed a VIN # & said the vehicle was due a passenger airbag inflator recall. It replaces the previous replacement. eh, okay. Guess I need to bring in 3 vehicles then? Fun.
Odder thing was it only mentioned the VIN. Had to go to the driveway & peruse VIN #'s to figure out which vehicle they want. This is for the 2003 Tundra.

I put the seat behind the driver seat back in today. Took the sub out weeks ago and figured why not.

The reading I’ve seen from honest people that have done them say just to leave the original design as it is. The catch cans only catch very little oil and can sometimes adversely effect the OEM ‘ventilation design’. In the end, lots of work and cost for no gain. The experts say to best place to use them is on certain turbos.

You assumingely cleaned yours and thats a good step. I know my PCV valve was really clogged and the chamber gunked. That could be another focal point to investigate.

    Hows the engine performance now?

I just got a letter for my 06.
I'll have to focus group some options to see what people want. I can probably make a set of mounts anywhere from $75-$150 for 6 mounts depending on how fancy they are.

Finally had a chance to install my SCS F5's I picked up a couple weeks ago. Wheels look black but they're the bronze version. Love that I don't need the spidertrax with the new -25 offset now. Tires are currently BFG AT'S 285/75/16 but will be going to Toyos pretty soon. Might try to stuff some 305's in there. New front end is next.

So far so good. Took your advice and sucked out a few ounces so that it's at the high mark when hot, not cold. I'll be keeping a close eye on it.

I doubt you're interested but I would buy a set of these if you decided to sell any. Provided we could agree on a price that actually makes sense for both of us. I honestly think these look better than some of the "professional" sliders I've seen for our trucks. Not to mention half these Fab shops won't even return phone calls or emails.

Sorry I'm not in the office right now but I'll get right back to you haha. I'll think about it but there's a reason I don't do freelance fab work much anymore. I'm too slow/meticulous to make money or I charge more than most can justify. I do certainly appreciate the compliments. If I can't make it better than I can afford to buy from someone else then I'm doing it wrong

I dunno. I actually live in a small rural suburb outside of Houston. I get gas at either HEB or Kroger.

My Costco does and luckily it's across the street from me. It's close to 50 cents cheaper for premium which at the moment is around 3.95. Just gotta get there early to beat the crowds. Im usually there at 6am on Saturday and Sunday filling each of my trucks up.

Learn to weld, buy the xo rock slider kit, buy some mounts from me... Have armor and a new skill! Seriously everyone should at least try welding. Either you'll appreciate people who can do it well or you'll be able to do it well.
Or you move to Utah and get the locals only guided tour to making your own junk. Hahaha.

There is a local guy I’m starting to consider for some custom aluminum racks/removable aluminum bed cover combo. I know he won’t be cheap, but he will make it just like I want it and there is no other piece like it.

I gladly pay a premium to have it ALL done right the first time made by a quality person.

Deleted the license plate. Never been a fan of plates up front, always done this and never had an issue. <$10 and the painted plugs look like parking sensors to me.

Slowly “dialing in” this old girl, but up next is paint correction while I wait for my Bilstein’s and add-a-leaf to arrive.

It wasn't that productive a weekend on the Turdna. I did some work the driveline on Saturday. Measured the angles. They seem well enough. The rear shaft working angle is around 5*, which is a bit much, but not enough to be the cause of my vibrations. Front shaft angle is within .05* of the pinion angle, so that is very good. U-joints still see solid and not worn out. my slip joint has grease in/on it. One thing I did notice is that my rear u-joint is out of phase with all the others, so I corrected that, and it changed the vibrations, but didn't take them away.

So, after all that, I'm thinking I either have a shaft out of balance, or my u-joints really are worn out without any external signs.

I'm contemplating bringing the shaft to a specialist, but I know that'll cost $$$. It's $150 just to balance a two piece shaft at my local driveline place, and they're the only one around.

    blech.

Nice and clean! I got a ticket once when parked for not having a front plate so I decided to keep it on.
I modified a bracket so I could mount the plate below that lower opening. I really didn't like how they break up the lines.

    Looks great!

Would you mind measuring from the middle of the hub to the fender for me?

Also on the tires did you have to do anything to the pinch weld?

Radios cheap enough. Current one is spotty when it works. The new ones might take a while to get out in the wild for cheap.

The harness will make it all plug and play later anyway.

Radio, microphone kit (yaris) and the harness to adapt the older style harness and antenna cost is about 180. Hard to beat for having all those functions. And later I can add a backup camera

Best part is all Toyota parts.
