Strange though how the winner gets a BLUE ribbon for 1st place - BLUE is the fastest color and that is why airports use it to mark their runways as the other colors can't keep up with today's jet aircraft. BLUE light has better penetration. Yet the most important of all...a red lagoon is toxic, a black lagoon has a creature, and a BLUE lagoon has a young, nubile Brooke Shields!:1up::bananadance:

You'll get points for the Brooke Shields @marbleville but the runway at the airport is black.

Well we are both off (polite way of saying - wrong). The airport runway is illuminated with white light until the last 2000 feet or half of the runway which is lit in yellow as a caution zone. BLUE light is used to illuminate the TAXI ways of airports, and because it penetrates furthest, is usually the light first seen by passengers when landing. [My mistake...I worked at Newark's airport in the early '70s for a short while and remember one of the people I worked with explaining how the airport had switched over to blue lights from the red lights of old because you could see it from a greater distance. I took that to mean landing lights and only now realize my error.]

Doood that's gunna look so clean especially with the black grill. I had those exact wheels on both my tacos. I regret not swapping em when I traded in on the tundra

I think I have a problem... I hadn't engaged 4wd in a few months so when I left work this morning I put it into 4hi, no problem, drove about a mile down the private road from work to the highway. Stopped and put it into 2hi but 4hi and 4lo.started.blinking on the dash and the buttons. Did I break it?

Mine sometimes has to roll a little bit before it engages.

I drove it home about 13 miles with it blinking. I stopped a few times and played with it. Tried shifting into neutral and park and engage/disengage 4hi/2hi but 4hi/4lo keep flashing. The truck seems to drive fine. Like I said 4hi engaged the intital time and seems to have disengaged. I don't feel any binding, but the dash lights are flashing and so are the 4wd buttons lights.

It sounds like the fork hasn’t slid all the way back to its home position, not quite hitting the home switch. It’s probably disengaged but just not all the way. See if you can engage it again and then try to take it out of 4x4

I tried that a couple times already. But it's been a few hours and I need to run to the hardware store today so I'll mess with it more.

I would go through the 4hi/4lo procedure a few times now to be sure...you don't want to have it not working when you need it the next time you try it...good luck.

My truck makes me nervous every time I put it in 4x4. I press the button, close my eyes, and hope that when I open them the 4hi light stays solid and doesn’t blink. Seems like every once in a while it acts up though but like most I haven’t cycled it since last winter so I’ll keep my fingers crossed

Cool thanks. Looks like those don't recommend anti-seize. That right?

I used self tapping Hex Head Roof Screws (the kind with the rubber washer in 3/4” length) to fasten the plate. Guess what else was used? A couple dabs of Fuze.

Just make sure you know where your transmission/oil/PS lines are so you don’t tap them!

Not necessary as NGK already has anti-seize on the plug.

well I'm weird and like to keep things oem so i'd rather make it easier on myself when I gotta remove the plate for oil filter changes and whatnot.

I have a gorilla length right arm that allows me to change the oil filter standing flat on the ground from above.

Those bolts/clips? seemed toast on mine. The self tappers are easily removable with a magnetic hex bit. User friendly.

On another note, I tend to lean my left leg up against the door panel right at the window switches. I guess I put enough pressure on it that it pushes the door panel down and lets my leg hairs get caught between the switch panel and the door panel. If I don’t get some colder weather soon, I’m gonna have a bald spot on my leg. Anyone else deal with this?
