I think that's what I'm trying on my next bumpers. The only thing I don't like about steel it so far is that it got messed up instantly when a dot of brake fluid hit it. I mean right as soon as a drop hit the control arm I wiped it off and there was a little bubbly spot. Normal paint would have been fine with that little time of exposure.

Really? I’ve had brake fluid hit it before and not cause anything weird. But that paint was 2 years old at that point

Maybe that's the issue. Mine was about 6-7 days old I think.

BLUE.:headbang: The color long associated with royalty and the divine; the color that has come to symbolize trust, loyalty, wisdom, confidence, intelligence, faith, truth, and heaven; the color of the sea, the clear sky, and clean water; the color most liked by men and women (according to artsy dot net).

Skid plates/splash guards look real good in BLUE.

And giving opposition a fair hearing...not so good looking on a baboon's butt unless you are a baboon. I don't like baboons and their blue butts for they remind me of my ex-wife from New Jersey. Can't say why, as her butt wasn't blue, but there it is.:rain:

That carbon pantyhose looking screen in the airbox shouldn't get clogged or anything over time. A lot of people like myself ripped it out years ago. It doesn't serve any purpose for filtration.

Agree and after reading too many posts here, TN, TS and TT that makes sense that it would only add to protecting the MAF to some degree. Boils down to a personal decision and choose to simply leave it be unless I wish to waste more of my wifes money paying $60 bucks to Toyota/Roman for a new top filter box part

That filter is just there to prevent fuel vapor from leaking out the air filter when the truck is off. You can remove it with no ill effect, and it is not a replaceable part

Removed the blower fan and oiled it since it had to come out to tackle this front pass side leak coming down through the blower hole. I did the cowl clip caulking last year with success and cured that areas drips, but there still are a couple drops after HEAVY rain coming in. Only thing I can guess is the OEM cowl intake shroud caulking (pictured black) is absorbing the water and weeping it into the blower side. I loaded up some FUZE by Liquid Nails and carefully gob’d and smeared the sealant into the small seam. Made sure to remove the loose OEM caulking from the rim first. It was dry rotted.

I have at least one coil pack that looked in rough shape and have seen them on Amazon for about $58/piece. Just ordered 8 new Denso OEM coil packs off eBay....guess how much though. think low....

Be careful of Chinese knockoffs on there. I'm a huge eBay fan but recently learned of this.

    Were they $30 each?

Well that’s what I was thinking but they show the right part number and I was gonna compare them before installing to make sure. Think I’ll be able to tell the difference? Or should I just try and cancel the order?

That fuze looks messy! Is it like butyl where it never dries? Back when I installed commercial walk in coolers/freezers we had to seal the tongue and groove w butyl, hoped you didn’t miss or have to take a panel back apart, it would string and fall and get on everything!!!!!

Very messy in this application. If it leaks, I’ll add more on top. Had to do do this job by feel as there isn’t enough room to visually perform it. Suppose to rain 14” here in Malaysia today. Should give it a good test!

@CodyP...The Chinese make for some excellent counterfeiters. I've bought laptop batteries, supposedly a Dell product, from a very popular USA distributor of laptop batteries that turned out to be loaded with sub-par 1086 batteries from Chinese suppliers. Couldn't tell they weren't from Dell until you ripped it open and saw the crappy batteries inside. Bought a pair of cell phone batteries from Ebay for a Motorola Razr. The batteries looked identical to my original, yet were DOA on arrival without as much as a twitch in them as far as I could tell. Then I noticed the Chinese makers had mistakenly added some space (equivalent to 1-1/2 horizontal line spacing, as opposed to single space) between two lines of text that Motorola labeled their batteries with. It was very subtle. They even had the requisite hologram that Motorola used to authenticate their products.

The old adage, "If it seems too good to be true, it probably is", is the golden rule when you shop Ebay or Aliexpress. Definitely where buyer beware is paramount. But if you are diligent and ready to fight for a return and your money back when problems arise, it can lessen the risk. Well, more often than not.

Pretty good synopsis from the Englishman?

Anyhoo, I’d say he nails it best when discussing the 1st Gen truck size/power compared to the current Taco and big fugly Tundras. The 1st Gens were ahead of their time as it was the Bushido Warriors last hurrah!

I've never understood why the older Tacomas were more popular than the Tundras. It doesn't make sense.
