If you have JBL you should have JBL logos on both the head unit and the door panels

EDIT: Apparently this only applies to Double Cabs. In 05+ Access Cabs, the amp is in the storage beneath the rear seat.

    Then I don't have JBL

I currently have it all connected by the 70-8112 harness.

Take any and all of the blue wires coming from the 8112 harness and hook them up to the remote turn on lead from the Pioneer. I cant remember exactly which one turns on the amp but try them all.

I also have the other harness in B. In fact.i had it wired in until yesterday when it didn't connect.to the harness in A.
So you're saying I could either splice.into my A harness? or remove it and rewire in the B harness and it plugs into the amp?

Using the 8112 harness integrates the factory amp by plugging into the same vehicle side harness that plugged into your factory head unit.

In order to use the 1761 harness and bypass this amp you need to unbolt the amp from its location. On the bottom of the amp you will find two plugs that match up to the 1761. These plugs are shown below:

So I'm set up like A and have no sound. I can't seem to local an amp after removing the ac ac controls

Dead serious that Ive never seen this. Is it possible that the JBL logo rubbed off or was knocked off of the door panels? Makes me wonder if the AC's were an entirely different animal.

@SoCalPaul, you've got an uber Limited right? Does your interior show JBL logos anywhere?

@because_wumbo-truck Do you have an amp beneath the rear seat?

According to Crutchfield your amp is under the right rear seat and you need Metra 70-8121 to bypass it.

This is why I always recommend Crutchfield. If you get stuck in situations like this they will talk you through it. I will gladly pay a few bucks more over Amazon to get tech support.

I got lucky as the previous owner had already installed a single Din radio. It made my install pretty straight forward. I think I just had to use the standard Toyota aftermarket radio connectors.

See post # 12 in that other thread. Although even here, this looks like a different style plug. There has to be some freaking way to turn that "Non JBL" amp on and integrate it without doing a bypass.

I can probably decode the colors if you wanna run some 9 conductor back there. Can you cut back a little of the harness wrap on both sides and take a clear picture showing all of the wire colors in both harnesses? It is ok to unplug the amp for a little more room.

So it looks like the Metra 70-8121 is what you need. Running the wires though the center console or along the passenger still plates is probably the easiest.

So Crutchfield rep said I needed the amp bypass for $25 so I ordered it. Will be here Wednesday. Too bad the first guy I ordered from didn't catch it when he recommended all the other crap. The second guy didn't catch it when I called for help. Car Toys didn't catch it when I say I needed a different harness.
This third guy hopefully is legit.

In other news, I was about to share that I ordered new head and fog LED's when I realized that I ordered 2 sets of headlights...

I meant to order Lightning Dark LED's and a different brand for Fogs. I may test both and see which I like better. Either way, I now have to order the fog lights.
