Nothing. Watched a video on side steps though, this guy came a long way since I first saw his videos.

I had those steps on my truck when I got it. Not completely garbage but I'm no fan. They didn't even cap the tubes so snow mud and water get in. Oh and they were actually quite slick even with the dimpled grip panels. Mine were rotted and I love the way it looks without them. My wife still hates it a little haha but she said if looks better.

Yeah, I plan to get sliders in the future but more as steps for the wife. I've never seen a set of step bars that I liked.

Tonight while it was cool, in the driveway with a headlamp and a stool,i replaced the upper control arm bushings and cleaned/lubed up the uniballs.

I’m glad i did, because when i loosened the thru bolt on the passenger side the bushing fell out in pieces.

I also noticed one of my front brake pad thru pins had backed out. The retaining clip had come off the back somehow

I hope everything is good now and no groans and squeaks

Next week I’ll take it in to the shop and have my leaking steering rack and pressure hose replaced, and my lower control arms replaced with Moogs.

Not that my comment will endear me to any fans of this bumper, but that bumper sorta looks like its teeth have been knocked out and he is wearing a retainer of sorts, or mouth guard. Just saying. [I know, to each their own. Like blue paint on their brake parts and a disco ball hanging in the blue-lit cab. Eh.]:smack:

How you like it? I’m not big fan of lifting (I’m doing it because of my 12 yrs old son who loves lifted trucks! :D).

Do you have before & after photos?

Does your kit have the add a leaf?

I have the one with the add a leaf and a spacer in the front.( I don’t have the spacers anymore I bought the rancho 2.5in struts) overall for the money it’s a good kit. Definitely stiffened up the truck. The add a leaf is great for hauling things. The install sucked in the rear because my leaf clamps would not budge ended up having to cut them off and buy new ones. The front install was really easy though.

Yes it comes with a leaf.. I have never did any suspension work before but I’m confident about the spacer in front that it will be easy for me but I wasn’t so confident about the leaf and after what you said, probably gonna ask a friend to do it :notsure:

Thank you for the heads up

That looks good man. 2.5” makes a difference more than I thought.

And you made quite the transformation there.

What tires you’re running there (after the lift)?

Yeah the rear was a headache. Also my ubolts would not budge had to heat them up and use lots pb blaster and a long breaker bar with a pipe on the end to get them off. Definitely would recommend pb blasting everything at least a day before hand.

Thanks man appreciate it. Those pics are about three years apart from each other.

    I’m running 285/75 r16s bfg Ko2s with 1.5in wheel spacers.

A cut off wheel or reciprocating saw makes quick work of u bolts since you're replacing them anyway.

Did some more alignment and such on my front end and installed some odd conversion "bulbs" (beamtech). I still need to adjust them but so far I'm impressed. The only rub is my fog lights don't work anymore and my fog light switch turns on my brights. I think there's a resistor I can get to fix this but I'm not sure yet

Contact Beamtech via email & they will send you the correct resistors for free. I did this around 10-10:30 pm and got a response within 15 min.

Great minds think alike. I contacted them a couple hours ago. I don't really expect a until Monday but who knows. Did you have to loosen the screws and rotate the bulb to get the pattern tighter or were they set out of the box? I just threw them in and made sure brights were up and lows were down. I didn't adjust anything even though I need to aim my lights in general after the suspension.

Filled up again today, my once a month activity. 13.7 mpg this time. A little better, but still bad. I also drove around with the windows down for a bit this morning. This truck makes pops, squeaks, rattles, grinding, groaning, and whining. All in 1 low speed turn. This suspension is rubbish. It's time for a rebuild.

I also received my newish steering wheel from @coyote today to replace this:

    20190704_133706.jpg

And I got my new tailgate latch to replace this:

    20190704_133752.jpg

So as soon as the weather chills the f out with the heat, I've got a metric f ton of work to do. Stay tuned, same drunk time, same drunk channel.

So I'm not exactly happy with the beam pattern of my new aftermarket headlight housings. I should have bought new OEM. I wonder if I can bake em and swap the clear new lenses onto my old stock housings.
