I think I may just have to spend the 7 dollars at Autozone just for that. I was wondering if there would be enough room to be able to do that, but I decided to be safe and unclip them. The back 3 on the drivers side were the hardest ones, due to hard brake lines, and other stuff.

Yeah just do 1 at a time. Loosen the ignition coil bolt and grab the end and twist and turn coil while pulling up making sure the wire/connector isn’t being yanked too hard in the process. Some have just enough room to be able to pull it out without the disconnection process you did. Hold the top of coil with one hand and grab the lower shaft with the other as you are pulling it out while slightly bending it. As far as the brake lines, its do-able because those usually have a longer wire play to play with. You could use a ladder to help depending on your height.
I may be wrong about the extension cost. Think its $12.

NO RUST, step bars, weathertech window and hood protectors, weathertech floor mats
I also have those but the fit was sooooo tight that my factory tint has started peeling. BTW, I got the ones that go inside the window trim not the ones that use double sided tape on outside. My plan is have the tint redone but leave it short so that it doesn't go up into window. With the weather tech you already have tint protection at top of window.

I thought about this potential problem you mentioned about the tint becoming an issue with mine. It is a snug fit as they are the tension fits that go inside the tracks. Thinking about not rolling window up so high and just stopping at the gasket.

I really like these now that I’ve had a little time with them. The rain or dew in the mornings no longer drips in on my knee cap when I roll down the window like it has for years! Today was raining and just kept the windows cracked an inch with A/C on. Very nice.

Thanks for the heads up on the tint peeling. I may try a little Vaseline on the gaskets. Get a thin film in there. I cleaned them out really well before putting the visors on. Maybe a thin film and a couple of good wipes may help. Either that or just not roll all the way up. Cheers!

    New carrier bearing.

Toyota's are boring, took longer to get a socket that fit than to replace the bearing. Greased all the u-joints and ball joints just to make it interesting.

That's cheating. I use about a foot of rubber fuel line. Loosen the plug, stick the fuel line in and it pops over the plug end, comes right out. Install in reverse, makes the driver side on closest to the cab easier.

Headunit, backup camera, rear speakers, sub and amp are installed. Now just waiting for the front door brackets to arrive. With just the rear speakers, it’s already 100 times better than the jbl shit.

What headunit is that, I’m fixing to put a jvc headunit and alpine speakers in mine (only using those because I get them at cost from work). unfortunately I don’t have room for any subs but I really like that sub box.

Kenwood DMX7705s. My last kenwood headunit lasted 12 years and was in 2 vehicles so they earned my business.

Alpine speakers will definitely be a great upgrade from the stock crap.

Started off just wanting a backup camera, then it snowballed from there. Like my dad would always say, if it’s worth doing, it’s worth doing right.

Time for foam padding? Or needs a more secure mounting method?

It sits securely in the storage pocket and doesn’t rattle when the seat is folded up. It’s the plastic under the seat that rattles when it’s down and locked. I’m pretty sure I’ll just remove the plastic but I’ll know for sure later.

Changed out the passenger side valve cover gasket today(3.5 hours). Old gasket was hard and the tube gaskets were too. Used the Toyota sealant in pic (for professional use only) in the corners and half moons. Made sure to remove the hardened old sealant (pictured) and cleaned up the surface prior to caulking. Buttoned up and test drove. Snugged up the bolts a bit more and test drove again.

Used torque wrench but SKECTHED OUT on 53 ftlbs. per Chiltons. Ended up just hand torque by feel. No way I’d go 53ftlbs. after what I felt. Used new bolts with washers. Will keep eye on tightness as always due to contraction/expansion. One of the spark plugs I put in last week needed a ‘snugging’. Used electrical tape on the heat rotted fuel injection wire shields. Will do driver side tomorrow.
