This false ABS activation is driving me nuts so I took the truck back to the 4x4 shop today and asked them to hook up their fancy SnapON tool. Below is the readout it's showing for all 4 ABS sensors.

As you can see, the left front sensor(top graph) is not tracking the same as the others. There are times when it's not picking up any activity at all. Their best guess is that the replacement sensor I bought off eBay is a dud. We inspected the tone ring per the advice of @empty_lord and it looked fine.

It appears I'm going to have to eat the $50 I paid for this sensor and buy another one. I'm not sure what else to try.

It almost looks like there's a break in the wire and the signal is dropping out.

It appeared fine when I installed it but if it's under the external shell I suppose I wouldn't be able to tell. The tech helping me said the only other thing he could think of is an issue in the line after the point at which the sensor plugs in. He said that would be very unlikely though.

Did those rub and what was your offset and lift? I just bought 285/75/17 ko2s for 17x9 Fuel D666's with -12 offset.

-10 offset on these assuming he got the 17x8.5. I would be surprised if they didn't rub.

I had some rubbing on the frame when turning in reverse at full lock. Granted this was my pavement princess so I didn't wheel it or fully flex out the suspension. Probably a pinch weld adjustment and trimming some plastic would have been enough.

Looks like the aftermarket sensor isn’t shielded.

It was an OEM sensor I bought off eBay. It was listed as new for $50 compared to $200 everywhere else. Perhaps the seller screwed me but it came in official Toyota packaging.

Got pictures? I’m curious. I’ve had multiple people burned by “oem” parts on ebay

The Chinese knockoff game is official. There was a factory in China pumping out Panasonic gear for years, they even had Panasonic sign on the building and it took years for the real Panasonic to get that place shutdown.

If you still have your old one try swapping left side to right side if you can. If the issue stays at the same wheel it might be not the sensor but wiring beyond the sensor.

These are from the listing. I'll take more when I remove it. But it looked just like the one that came off. I'm going to take a chance on a $20 one from Amazon. They have good reviews and if it doesn't work I'll just return it. I'd rather try this before dropping $200.

Bag looks legit. Should be some part numbers on the sensor itself when you pull it.

A time ring issue can also appear like your graph there does. These tone rings are pressed onto the hub so not super easy to inspect

Do what I did on my 03 DC taco and just pull the abs fuse. Problem solved.

Did you ever get a chance to install these? I'd like to get your thoughts on them before I purchase.

I just hit 1,000 miles since the 4.88's were installed, and just for peace of mind, I wanted to put fresh diff fluid in. I also needed a trans fluid change and oil change. That's more than I wanted to take on myself. With a planned fishing trip this weekend, I just needed it done. So I took her in to a local import mechanic. I also just had a CEL come on with a P0141 code. They said it was a failed bank 1 downstream O2 sensor. Total came to $620. But at least now I can tow with confidence.

Got my level 8 MK6 mounted today. Came out great except they left the spacers on despite me telling them to remove them.

I finally got.my headlight conundrum solved. I spoke with Mike of Headlight Services and he emailed me.some.pics and we concluded my harness had the high and low beam wires reversed. So I used a flathead to pop the male blades out of the plug with goes to the factory headlight harness and swapped em. Now they work great. This explains why everyone was flashing their high beams at me, because when on low I was actually shining the highs and the lows then on high I was just shining the highs. Also explains why my bulbs exploded within 3 weeks of install

Nice! I got brand new blemished delivered Wednesday. Vin gave a pretty good deal consider 3 out of the 4 wheels took me a minute to find the "blemish". He sent me photos via email before I pulled the trigger and they look far worse in the pictures. $798 shipped. Last photo is of the "worst" one after I unboxed it, see if any of you can find the damage. :D

Very nice! Good move snatching up those "blemished" units. They look great. I've been meaning to ask how the progress was going. Did you receive the ICON's yet?

Here is the worst of the damage on the used ones I bought. I found a guy that will fix this for $75 but I can't decide if it's worth it.

That's a pretty good chunk, but $75 to fix it will be worth it. I received the camburgs and ICONs a couple of weeks ago and currently have been working on it after work since Wednesday. I got both the ICONs on and one of the camburgs. I got stopped last night by the drivers side CV coming apart. Not sure what cause this yet but I got figure that out before continuing. It has gone pretty well up to that point. I went with the 700# spring instead of the standard 650# and they claim that with the 1" of threads showing i should be right around 3" of lift but I say bullshit. Anyone with a double cab 4wd have any intel about ICONs with 700# spring? I have searched and I can't seem to find anything.

I'd say file that down smooth and shoot it with some paint. Put it on the passenger side and you'll forget all about it.

Oh, I have that. Either I’ve never been in that mode, or I have an older version.
