Sadly, no cap holder in the later years like mine :(

Believe me, I've bitched about it several times on here.

It really boils down to the bulb. If the bulbs are supposedly "CANBUS compliant", they should have adequate resistance built into the bulb and/or its driver to avoid issues.

LEDs draw less than a standard halogen, in some cases, exorbitantly less. You're using resistors to effectively emulate the effect on the circuit, to mimic what a normal halogen would do. But it's only necessary in cases where the manufacturer doesn't bother, and in 2025, failure to manuf'er your product such that it's CANBUS compliant is a sign your product is inferior.

I'm fairly certain hyperflash is rooted in the same issue: Using LEDs in place of a standard light, such that the relay doesn't have enough load on the circuit to function correctly, so it triggers like ham.

Mine settled quite a bit. I ended up raising the front not too long ago.

You can always buy an earlier door version and paint it white.

It's been done, but they are not a direct swap. there is a post or 2 on here about it. I remember some guy using rivets.

I wonder if it coincides with removal of the lock on the gas door? A feature most people don’t mind having.

EDIT: Here's a thread where a guy did a good job, but doesn't detail what is involved. Fuel door interchange | Toyota Tundra Forum

Looks like just the plastic fuel filler surround was just replaced with an integrated latch/opener mechanism and the door itself. No real permanent modifications necessary.

I figured CANBUS compliant bulbs would keep errors from popping up on CANBUS vehicles. Guess it could also have a positive/noticeable effect on non CANBUS vehicles too.

It always drives me crazy that so many people will go through the effort of doing LED turn signal bulb swaps in their vehicles but then just not care about having hyperflash.

I hate that, almost like a rapid strobing, if you look off-center of the headlights you can see them sparkling. And I don't think the drivers are aware their lights are doing it. Drives me nuts.
