I mainly replaced mine because the tether was broken, solving the CEL was a bonus.

Tried that but but oring was cracked. Tried to find one at the hardware store and eventually just replaced the cap...$20 and done.

My tether was gone too, so replacing it and having a functioning tether was the added bonus for me

replaced mine just for a new tether. A real wtf design when there have been clearly better ones around for many years.

I've pulled it and it doesn't seem to do anything. I'm guessing trailer wiring?

Yep! Correct kit for your truck can be found using this lookup tool. https://aisinaftermarket.com/online

I'm late to the party, but with your swaybar (I think you deleted yours) unbolted, plant a foot on the LCA, put your body weight into it, and push downwards. You should be able to assert enough pressure to get the downward travel required for aligning the hole. Don't use screwdrivers or anything to align, too much risk of galling or scratching the shock bushing.

Right? I think wood dash looks more-premium with the metal-capped ones. All-black looks cheap to me. I also prefer the light pattern on the silver-rimmed ones, looks a bit less like someone 3D printed the shits in their basement.

So I did some testing with the multimeter and with the eyes on my non-working headlights. I suspected the "upgrade harness" wasn't getting trigger, or the relays were bad. They are definitely getting trigger signal, the relays are not clicking on and there's quite a bit of surface tarnish on the copper contacts. I cleaned them all up and tried again and still nothing. Either significant internal corrosion, or just outright relay failure. Plugged the LED projector bulbs into the factory harness straight up and they are functioning normal. I will probably remove the upgrade harness and toss in the parts pile. Probably don't need it anyway with just the LED projectors now.
