I have an older one that I inherited from my Granny. Craftsman DYS 4500 anniversary edition. It's listed as a tractor more than a lawnmower I guess, but it's been a solid ride. I did the full boat maintenance on it when I got it and it had been running for a decade without servicing and only on 1 quart of oil, but it still ran like a champ. Last season I smashed a tree stump covered by leaves and bent the deck. Beat it out straight and it's still running fine.

I just have to replace the drive belt and blade belt as well as the pulleys as my next to-do.

When we bought our new property they left a craftsman and a Snapper (not the Forrest Gump style unfortunately lol) - I sold the craftsman to my old neighbor and kept the snapper but man it was about to die on me so enter the GT235. hoping to get at 'least' 5-10 more years out of her. she cuts like a dream and is so much smoother than the old snapper

Husqvarna 7021P (2012) It's had a full life as 80% mower 20% brush hog. Deck gave out, replaced with a deck from a bent crank Poulan.
That Honda motor still starts on the first or second pull. We have a free-bee craftsman self propelled I got running, but the Husky is my go to, nice and light.
Living in town we didn't have a lot of lawn, have about 3x as much now, but it only takes a few more minutes. I'll keep getting my exercise.

These are a great backup if you don’t mow your lawn for a least a month. They won’t bog down like your lawn mower in the tall grass. There’s even a service in my area that will loan them to you for the day.

Just don’t let them get near the flowers.

Don't blame me! I talked about pulling mowers not using them! LOL

It makes sense though that guys that would work on their own trucks would mow their own grass.

    ****
TODAY, TO MY TUNDRA......I opened the door and marveled at how cool the Heat Shields another member posted about keep the inside cool. I only have these on the front and front side windows as the others are so well-tinted from the factory.

Got my checkbook out. That was it.

Later though we'll pull the single axle to mow 4 yards.

@KNABORES You may want to get rid of those hood rust spots before they get worse.

My dad bought this JD 345 brand new back around 2005~ish? It’s been fantastic. The Baja Designs headlights make those dark 10pm lawn mowings highly illuminating. IMG_3224.jpg IMG_3223.jpg

Pulled the door panel, and replaced the door handle I stupidly broke in a moment of absent mindedness.
While I was at it I put the window back in its channel, and lubed up all the rails.
Didn't realize until I had it all apart, and got the new one out it not the right color, but went ahead, and installed it anyway for now cause I'm tired of cutting up my finger on the broken one.
It's a cheap Amazon one, but will keep eyes out for a good one right color.

Also bought every package of clips oreillys had that hold the lower dust strip on, and replaced all them on the drivers door.
