    What's a "head unit?"

No idea what's been done. Stealership quote "wiring has been butchered" so I assume that means when the touchscreen radio was put in as it appears to have few other aftermarket "updates." It does have some extra plug ins and some kind of microphone(?) installed. I'll try and get pics of that stuff up at some point.

    ****
Today I went back to Crackhead Corner* to mow, weedeat, and assist the owner in removing deadbolts the last deadbeat renter put in. (Put his own locks in without providing the owner with a key). The Tundra pulled the 18 foot trailer with large zero turn (60 inch deck) and the Husqvarna riding mower (48 inch deck). I was able to mow just about the entire property except for the forward field which was just too wet to attempt. (The riding mower sports tire chains and thus, gets used on steep hills, such part of this property has).

It was pretty dry down there for a change BUT I still put her into 4wd Hi when leaving and since I was getting good traction and rather tired of being there I drove through part of the rear field. I took her out of 4wd while on the property and at about 2 mph. That was the second easiest it came out of 4wd. I assume the use of 4wd has freed things up a bit.

I went into 4wd Hi again when I got home as it was raining so heavily there was standing water in the yard! I backed the trailer into unloading position and she came out of 4wd without needing to move. The was no "thunk" that time at all.

I kept my speed up more on this run back and she did really well on those interstate hills. She passed many tractor trailers that must have been heavily laden.

Very happy with this truck. :bananadance:

*Didn't see any tweakers this time.

That's fine for the passenger side, I guess. But I'm not giving up my foot rest dummy pedal.

Head unit is your radio. What model# radio do you have installed? Have you tried forcing it to “always daytime” mode? Just in case the illumination is dimming it because you have your headlights on, or the previous owner wired up incorrectly so illumination lead is getting triggered just from the car being on.

Hmmm....all I know is "Kenwood" made it. Wife played around with "settings" but we couldn't seem to make it darker. Basically the screen is too lit up (?) and it's hard to see much.

Radio has a lot of static too.

I bought my pops a kenwood for Xmas, because he wanted a backup cam. Same issue, can't adjust the picture. $300 piece of shit. I shouldn't have let him pick it out. He didn't even try it out first. I should've just got him a Pioneer. I've had three pioneers and all have been great

I can ask the seller if her husband was the one that installed it. She might know / be able to remember. "Cheap" describes their situation very well.

At some point we'll take it to a good radio installer and see what they can do. For now, I'm getting better and using it to hook up the trailer without a helper or me jumping out and estimating distance / backing up that estimated distance.

Look at the faceplate, nearly every name brand radio has a model# on the face. With Kenwood a lot of times it starts with* DMM or DMX, with Pioneer it’s DEH, Alpine is iLX, it varies brand to brand.

Kenwood’s Excelon series is usually pretty solid, but not everyone buys the solid stuff.

Dextromethorphan (DXM) which has nothing to do with the man pictured other than sharing the same three letters.

All the general references above you aren’t getting are musical, due to the man pictured.

You gotta understand some of us on here may be caught listening to Merle Haggard, Prince, Grateful Dead, Prodigy, Beastie Boys, and Marvin Gaye all in the same 24 hour span. We have rich, varied, and wide musical tastes.

And maybe sprinkle some death metal or thrash in there and EDM too, if it’s me. Acid Bath. Old D.R.I. Classic Metallica. Acen. Aphex Twin. μ-Ziq. Misc breakbeat or Miami bass.
