My wife got me a Carven muffler for my birthday... she must of been looking at my Amazon cart.... hopefully I like it! Lol

Anyhow, should I weld it in? Or clamp it in? It would be nice to have the option to remove it easily if I didn’t like it...

Any leakage with clamps? (Given I get high quality clamps...)

I've clamped all the mufflers I've installed and never had an issue (unless the clamp rusted off)

So far new kicker speakers in doors and window tint all the way around
Usually 4-5 10mm bolts holding the fender
Also have to take your splash guards back to disconnect from front bumper . Not hard at all

Clamps usually hold up fine. If not you can always have flanges welded on for easy removal

Todays view. Taped up some wire harnesses under the hood where the OEM tape has started to fray and unwind. Crawled under and inspected the oil pan for ‘weeps’ and nothing since the ‘High Mileage’ conversion. Checked oil and trans fluid sticks and all is good. Looking at doing a wash and wax tomorrow.

I had a conversation today with Deaver. I am going to go with them for my springs, just not sure what yet. He said G-57's are not going to work for towing or any kind of regular payload. He thought 200-300 might be okay but I am leaning towards custom with an added 200 lbs capacity. I do not tow very much and if I do it's across town once or twice a year, so I can deal with sagging under those kinds of loads. They don't bother with a left and right bias in the spring, he said it hasn't been an issue if you have adjustable CO's. I need to decide soon because it will be 2 months before these would be in my hands after ordering. Anyone have thoughts on this?

Oh I see, I thought you meant 200lbs was too little. It's a bit of compromise getting leaf springs, gaining flex loses payload. Some guys throw in air bags to tow or timbrens to prevent full bottoming out when carrying weight. Deaver can set you up well though.

    GrillMaster. Without the ‘e’.

I think they make bbq’s, as well.

All kidding aside, its a quality grille that fits nicely and has a durable powder coat gloss finish. They make one in chrome which another member here has on his truck.

You basically cut the ribs out from the old grille and tension fit and screw the new on.

I had to spray flat black finish inside the engine compartment frame on either side of the radiators to ‘black out’ those areas which completes the look nicely.

And I sprayed the formerly OEM chrome trim around the grille with special ordered color matched 1D6 along with the side mirror chrome caps.

Here is another look pre-painting the OEM frame surround with 1D6. The ‘Toyota’ emblem is for Tercel specific use. $14.

It very well may be as both yours and mine are made by Grillcraft (I called it GrillMaster). Check the link above for their website.

What is the trick with the superbumps? There is barely any room here to fit the bump, let alone get an Allen wrench in there.

Do I need to get the lower control arm to drop down more?

    0524191750.jpg

Also, the sway bar link snapped while trying to remove it. I'm guessing there is a trick to remove the link as the bolt just spins.

Was it a pain in the ass to fit? I need a new grille since the current one is deformed.

No the issue is that it's just spinning. There is a washer type deal on the inside I can see moving as I try to remove. Can't seem to grip it with vice grips.

Yeah this was the reason I was leery of the Super Bumps as their system uses an Allen Bolt and the space requirements aren’t enough. Allen Bolts are difficult enough to work with and the lack of room doesn’t facilitate the wrench per reviewers.

Waiting for @Swalters recco on those other bumps.

I’d like to see a screw on type similar to the OEM. My ‘Clever Delights’ idea hasn’t been executed yet.

I think you need to jack up each side individually to make the room to key the key in.

Per your broken links removal: You’ll need to grind it off or use a hack saw (saw is pronounced ‘sore’ in New England).

    Easy fit.

Remove the 5 bolts/nuts and pull the old grille off of truck hood.

Take it to a padded bench and cut the ribs around the perimeter inside the OEM grille CAREFUL not to cut the hood latching mount. I used a small sawzall with a metal cutting blade for clean cuts (even though its plastic you are cutting).

New one fits in with four pre-drilled holes made by you in the OEM frame. The new grill is precisely made and fits perfectly. Just make sure to have tension on the frame before pre-drilling holes in the OEM frame as that tension is what makes a snug pro type fitment during the final assembly.

    60 minute job tops.
