My fox 2.5's hit bumps quite a bit, but I'm intentionally pushing the truck at speed so theres that. I don't love them, but I can't decide if it's because they're non adjustable or the rebound is too quick.

 

Finally received the Cascadia 4x4 hood panel. 95w and a new design. I'll check charging amps and watts tomorrow during the day.

Your shocks hit your bumpstops? Regardless, you should definitely be hitting your bumpstops often if you're running something taller than OEM, that's part of the point of them.

I guess that should've been cleared up, because iirc some 2.5's do have that issue with some bumpstops

 

Reception report: I can’t tell the difference. I popped on the radio a few times on my way up to Helen to work a job, 2hrs each way. I could get stations, no problem.

So nice to not smack the damn antenna in parking decks and going in-out of my garage anymore. It looks a little bulky but whatever.

 

Hmmm....thanks for the suggestion! I've only put it into 4wd while stopped in Neutral. You suggest, instead of taking it out of 4wd while stopped in Neutral to instead, getting my speed above 20 to 25 mph (assuming while in Drive), then taking it out?

We work according to the weather, that is basically what controls the schedule. As for crackheads, I (now) turn down jobs when I scout out a client's yard and see a lot walking up and down the roads.

Today we were out mowing, the Tundra pulling the trailer just fine. I really do need to fix that parking brake. Apparently there is an adjustment in the drums I can try? It's getting old having the wife chock the wheel.

 

Yeah, disengage 4x4 while moving. Agree, for friends you come through.

Alright then. I guess me pulling ahead while the light was still blinking was the right move but next time I'll get my speed on up above 20 or 25 mph as you suggested before disengaging.

I wouldn't necessarily do it at 20-25mph, but moving, yes. I typically do it under 10mph, or not moving, personally.

 

Well do you get a loud "THUNK" when it comes out of 4wd? I am guessing I was going 2 to 5 mph all three times I've disengaged.

 

Well, Ironically I have the same issue, no 4LO. I've had both my actuators off and cleaned them up, and getting the TC one back on right (clocked correctly) was difficult. In fact about three attempts just to get 4HI working again. Still debating on opening that can of worms back up. I did run across a few new tips since then that might explain better how to clock the thing. But its one of those things where 50% of me says leave well enough alone, you've got 4HI. I rarely used it except in winter, and on the new property here a couple times now. But in your work situation you might like to have 4LO.
Like I said with the thunk though that's just how mine reacts, try it at lower speed like assdog said if the speed makes you nervous. The manual says something like under 60mph, yeah I found it hahaha.

 

For 4Lo, first shift into 4Hi, then once it's engaged, shift into neutral and 4Lo. Once the orange light is solid, you can drive. If you don't allow the system time to properly shift, it makes an awful loud grinding noise. I found that out at the Lone Star Toyota Jamboree a few weeks back. Oops!

 

Sometimes, yes. Usually that only happened to my truck if I disengage while moving. Though it doesn't always happen.

Edit: have you checked your transfer case fluid already?

 

Thanks guys. It's supposed to rain again (ugh!) beginning Tuesday so I'll have some free time to dive into this more deeply. I'll read the owner's manual, go over threads on the issue here, and see what I can figure out before starting a new thread.

4wd and Low gear would be nice to pull someone out of a ditch.

Ohhhh I’d like to voice my view on Icons, I hate them haha.

I bought a set for my tacoma, they leaked a few times, rode alright. Got my current tundra with icons already on and leaking rear. Now it feels like the front is almost bucking on the freeway, driving me nuts not sure what the problem is yet
