Huge improvement. Looks new again compared to before. Should be easier to keep clean this coming winter. Another solid waxing (protective coat) before the winter sets in will be icing on the cake.

I'll probably do another wax in mid October before it gets cold. Looks like I'll have a twice yearly deep clean on the paint. I'm thinking April and October should work.

Haven’t tried these out yet, but the reviews look decent for the H4 bulbs. The lack of fans is a plus. The negative is some reported fogs unusable after install. Light looks nice and pure white. Look forward to your results.

Anyone else have experiance with aftermarket factory style bumpers... want to know if the fit is good.. toyota wants a ton for the bumpers. used seems to be impossible to find without chrome or rust. Dont want to get some aftermarket junk and have it fit wrong though

If you can get CAPA certified parts you shouldn't have any issue. I'd stay away from the cheapest you can find though.

CAPA certified is all i'll touch. just depends on if i can get it here with decent shipping. I need everything for the front and the rear bumpers.

I'm actually thinking about putting in bed boxes like the newer tacomas have in the tundras bed... seems like theres so much unused space in between the bed and the bedsides. and with a regular cab.. space means alot. lol

I used to do that with my cars, but I've always liked my trucks a little.... trail abused. if they're as new I'm afraid to use them properly, always thinking about the work to clean it back up to new. Cars, like show room +. Then I got the Pius. 1st car I absolutely don't care about. Of course I'm also working 3 jobs now.

my Taco is a regular cab - I get you. Ton of space between fenders & bedsides on the regular bed. I swapped on a step side bed & there went most of that space!

eh my tacomas like a collector car to me now. lol it was my first vehicle. my dad bought it new, handed it down to me. its been in my life for over half of it

as for the tundra it'll get used. i mainly want it for towing. i've got an aluminum body jeep that was gifted to me by my uncle that will do offroad duties.

you know.... if you moved the spare tire you could mount a box/cooler under the bed floor like Ridgeline does.

eh. im a fan of the spare under the truck. plus the cross member would make it not accessible from the top of the bed. Side pockets with locks and some sort of weather seal would make for a nice spot to store some basic tools and straps.

I was thinking behind the cross. [edit] wide & narrow. 1 or two trap doors in the floor.

speaking of mods - anyone do / heard of, the breathers & air intake being moved into the cab?
Seems like breathers brought into the cab makes sense.
Reading a snorkel thread, seems like popping through the firewall is no more damaging to structure than drilling holes into the A-pillar.
wonder how much air / how loud the intake is if drawing from behind the dash...

I think you should just have some custom bumper made. It would probably cost the same but look a lot better.

if you brought the breathers for the axles into the cab it would be very smelly. I have the ARB breather kit im running to the top of the firewall for all the breathers.

I ran mine up behind the gas cap door and zip tied it to the gas funnel.

I’ve seen some run them into the rear brake light assy cavity of the body frame. Remove drivers side assy and zip tie the hose to the wiring harness.

    Little thing is expensive.

Bought both my 5’ aluminum side boxes for $400 new back in 2003. They have been very useful. I could see something like your linked set up would come in handy, but for me that little truck bed space is valuable at times.

This would sit inside the bedside, otherwise in unuseable space. Idea is to use the bedside area to store things I’d keep in a toolbox so instead of losing bed realestate I’m using space that’s not hindering bed size

The build is in Tacoma world.. the slow and painful build, but building a full forged 5vz, brand new frame, icon suspension etc etc

If anyone needs new vent knobs I have 2 extra. One of mine was cracked but I had to order a 3 pack so I replaced all 3 and now I have 2 of the original(not cracked) knobs just sitting around. I'd be happy to drop them in the mail if anyone needs them.
