Did you check for play in the inner tie rods as well? I think that is where my problem is coming from.

I haven't yet. I wasn't sure if you could really pinpoint the issue until you remove the outer tie rods. How would you know which one is causing the issue? The inner tie rods are $175 each so I was going to start with the cheap and easy outer's first and go from there.

Has to be a really long Phillips. At the rig or I'd take pictures but you should see 2 guide shafts on top of the head light assembly to stick a screwdriver in, one for up/down and one for right/left.

Do we have a consensus yet on the best LED bulbs? I have headlight housinslgs in my rockauto cart. Either this monh or next i'll pull the trigge and i want to try LED bulbs.

Auxbeam, Beamtech and Sealight at the ones I'm looking at.

Not sure. Follow Festers FSM. I looked and my OE assys. have the screw driver adjust. Stoked on this as its so much easier than the way I was doing before.

Had a leak where the transmission and the driveshaft meet. So yesterday I decided to finally take off the driveshaft and replace the extension housing seal. Everything went smooth for the most part.

Unfortunately, after driving around today I came home and saw the leak again.

    thumbnail_IMG_3038 (1).jpg

I noticed it looks like its actually coming from the yoke. So I did some research and it sounds like this is actually a common problem with the yoke leaking through a hole. Some people had the hole welded shut to fix their leaks. Anyone ever have this issue? Anyone know what the easiest and cheapest way to plug this would be?

Katanas are very nice for $50. Bright Pure White light, but not blinding if that makes sense. The cut off is perfect. Bulb has the cup on it like the OE halogen so the trajectory is spot on. 2 year warranty.

High Beams will blind for sure, but they rarely get used unless needed for a flash or when other vehicles are not around. A non-issue.

They have cooling fans and are so quiet they can’t be heard. I have to check with my hand if they are blowing. OEM running lights were half dim from lowbeam and these Katanas run the DTR power at the same as lowbeam. This is the only difference in performance I can see which is another non-issue. Some LEDs do not have the capability to run the DTR per reviewers (an issue for me).

I have no other LED to compare these Katanas, but can say I’m amazed.

The PerfectFit Fogs are truly amazing, as well. They fill in the void with about 220° of wrap around light off the front bumper plane on the 2002 lenses. My favorite light source by the way. $129. Fanless.

Both mentioned LEDs are plug and play. No funky weirdness on sound system, need for resistors, or rewiring etc.

I’ve read (if I remember correctly but do not hold me to this) that after this same repair you performed that the leak will slowly seal itself up over time with driving. Its common for it to leak right after then it stops. Doesn’t make sense, but this is what I read. Assuming you used the proper parts and technique.

How are you obtaining your price quotes?

I just punched in Cool Springs Toy via Toy.com and searched a price for an oil filter YZZD-3 type OEM for 1st Gen. and the price was like almost $6.

    Toypartsdeal is $3.81.

As Hand Model said, we've had really good luck with the Katanas. The 2nd and 3rd Gen guys swear by the Auxbeam lights in their reflectors, probably can't go wrong with either.

I first use Toyota Parts Deal to identify the correct part#(they have my vin saved so I don't have to worry about compatibility). From there I put the same part # in at cool springs. Every item I've checked so far has been a few bucks less. Cool Springs offers 20% off shipping for forum members. Also, the one time I ordered from TPD they were extremely slow to ship.

I typically check eBay as well.

For oil filters, eBay has the best prices I've seen once you consider the shipping is free.

The mirror was free from work. Warranty because the Bluetooth mic didn’t work. Yes it bolts up. You just have to wire the thing in.

eBay, just look for gentex mirror. It’s who makes them for all the manufacturers

Thanks guys. Looks like the Katanas are $120+ on Amazon Canada and it doesn't look like they have the right ones for my truck.

I may end up giving the Auxbeams a try.

@Professional Hand Model, do you have a link to the Perfect Fit Fogs?

Washed the ride and got an oil change. Also had them check the leak, it is from the 4x4 actuator. Also got a quote for a CV axle. $300.

Is that a Toyota CV axle? Or is that aftermarket including installation?

I'll have to ask as I don't remember. It's from Carquest and that includes install. Probably just gonna get a CVJReman and do it myself.

Any first gens running scs wheels? I may just be blind.

I’m debating f5s in bronze with 285/75r16s when the trucks all done. (Eibach shocks are happening, so the front will be level with the rear)

Also debating between cement grey or the new trd pro green. Hmm decisions. Body works coming sooner rather than later... got people lined up to remove my bed Sunday. The. It’s off for frame straightening (if it even needs it) before I do suspension work

@Casper421 has SCS wheels. I'll be ordering some soon as well.

So does this guy. He's running 305/70/16s with OME suspension.

Not sure. $50 is about what one would pay for regular incandescents. 2 years is a long time to figure out if the dust will effect the fans which are rated for water use. Either run them without washing occasionally or not. Return if necessary.

I double checked the link and these linked bulbs are not called ‘PerfectFit’ anymore. The picture looks the same. The described Philips Chip Tech is the same. All things look the same, but with a new name. Same price $129.
