Motorcycles ruined me. I cant help but pay attention to everything & everyone. It's bad enough that i'm kinda scared when my family members have to drive anywhere, especially the grandparents (not that they SHOULD be driving, because old folks are the worst.)

Sirfive for president 2028, all vehicles will get paintball guns to mark the bad drivers.

    Lol. You are too kind.

Pretty similar to what I've said before. You simply have to ride or drive as if you are invisible to others. It's the only way. Not a guarantee, but it is the safest and less-risky mentality to be on the road with.

'Crazy' lol. Sometimes, you just gotta burn some folks. If the spun truck has been hauling ass all day, i'd let him in; but if i've gotta pass him on the right, so i dont have to be stuck behind his speed-matching, he's not going to have a good time. The radar cruise folks are notorious. A blinker will usually work at night, but daytime drivers are oblivious. They just have no clue why some jackass in a black truck makes the rest of their trip difficult.

Was that video from the I-30 crossing Lake Ray Hubbard? Didn't notice. There's a lot of crazy, irresponsible shit that happens on that stretch.

On 2nd look, it looks more like FLA. Could be incorrect, though.

I dont know, but everyone in that clip gets what they deserve. No blinker = no snack.

one of the major benefits of not having a bumper is that i dont look like i have insurance & that really does affect someones decision to cut me off. I pretty much always get the right-of-way at 4-way stops.

When I have to walk on a busy main road I always walk against traffic so I can make eye contact with the oncoming drivers. I have observed that exactly no one is actually looking out the front of their vehicle as they drive! There's an Interstate Hwy nearby (I don't know why it's an Interstate - it's 17.68 miles long) that hosts a fatal accident weekly (often several in a week). I used to frequently drive I-95 through VA and NC, and cannot recall a single trip where I did not see a fiery crash along the way! I eventually altered my route to reduce the odds of me being in the fiery crash. The NTSB must have numbers for all of this. I can't believe that "distracted driving" events haven't doubled or tripled in the last ~ 17 years (The iPhone was introduced in 2007).

My confusion lies in why the fill was needed. Iirc the fill plug is already hexagonal, it's the drain that's a stupid Allen key. Also those appear to be for the 8" front diff. Will those fit our 7.5" front diffs?

Reason I ask is because I have a second gen tacoma hexagonal magnetic drain plug in my possession (8" front diff) and I never actually tried it out because I was told it wouldn't fit.

From the factory both the fill and drain plugs are 10mm allen. If you already have hexagonal for the fill then it's already been changed

FL, the long 7-mile bridge in the Keys is what a lot of ppl say but pretty sure it’s the Pontchartrain causeway. if I recall, driver is off duty LEO. Been a while since I’ve seen it. But yeah, the merging driver was, IIRC, at fault.

Manglers unite! I still have broken VC bolts, and my trans filter has a broken bolt in it. I had to replace the backing plate studs to mangling, and found out the leaf springs ARE directional. If there's a way to fuck it up, I'll find it. Like @JakeJake says, we do it right because we do it twice.

Note: That graphic may not apply to all years. I used that same graphic when refreshing fluids on my '06, I don't remember who posted it. Anyway, I found some of the OEM part numbers were different for my 2006 (ok, so maybe it was just the xfer case 'alt' number that was different).

    Front diff drain: 90430-24003
    Front diff fill: 12157-10010

    Rear diff drain: 12157-10010
    Rear diff fill: 12157-10010

Xfer case drain: 90430-A0003 (alt: 90430-18008)
Xfer case fill: 90430-A0003 (alt: 90430-18008)
EDIT: Shit, I guess they are the same. Weird. I swear I ordered different from what that thing showed.

Very helpful, the Toyota dealer just threw them all in one bag but I was able to sort it out by the 3 of the same, 2 of the same, and the one obvious copper one that only fits up front. Luckily I didn’t order extras

Unrelated question, what’s your preferred metal (aluminum) epoxy that can seal on oily surfaces? Someone has to have a story about plugging an oil pan leak for a quick dirty fix that ended up holding forever.

Very smooth, they’re great at soaking up the chop of washboard roads at speed and even when a wheel unexpectedly falls into a ditch (small ditch)or drops off a curb it’s very controlled and not harsh like before.

To follow up on my previous post; most of you know how satisfying this feeling is. Needle bearing swapped to bushing, oil seal replaced, new front diff fluid, and so far no leaks.

That’s my first time using one. I still think I’m going to buy the Irwin extractor set for future issues, but that sucker worked well.

    Weight reduction, mostly rust.
    That's awesome.
Bushing: Did you try my cut off axle tip for the install portion? Just curious if it worked as well for you as it did for me.
    That bronze bushing killed 95% of a 25-40mph vibration I had.

I did use it. I used both honestly. Thanks for adding that to the kit.
I made things a little harder by not removing the skid plates before removing the bushing. So the axle stub worked well being a little shorter and allowing me to get a longer swing with the hammer.
