Has anyone replaced a leaky output seal in the past? It seems like this Tacoma vid details the process well -
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aC8yfiTiw3M

But I got under the truck and realized my 2004 tundra has exhaust piping in the way. Can I still remove the driveshaft and work around the piping or do I need to remove parts of the exhaust as well?

Might as well do a check on the seal part number as well as its been a bit confusing looking it up. I bought part
90311-41007 and Im 95% sure thats the one. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Scored on a used combo tool box and many drawers of tools. Total cost $175 for everything pictured. Had to clean everything up and put a coat of grease on, but well worth it. Not pictured are some fine measuring tools and assorted goods.

Sick deal. Majority of these tools are a mix of Snap-On, Craftsman, Mac, and Thorsen. Most over 40 years old.

I'm having a hard time believing this but I just got 18.6 MPG on the way home from SC tonight. This was through the Smokie Mtns. I got 17.5 on the way there.

I have never even come close to this before. It was hot and through mountains. It makes no sense.

Ok, I've got the 2nd and final pieces of the ultimate headlight mod in the mail today. I'll be installing the wire harness and 100w h4 bulbs tomorrow sometime. Either in the morning after I get home from work or in the afternoon when I wake up.

Normally if the exhaust is in the way you can drop the rubber exhaust holders and it can give you some play with the piping

IMG_20190502_204331.jpg IMG_20190502_204323.jpg IMG_20190502_204321.jpg just did projector lights on the truck wired them into the existing door Courtesy lights so they go on and off with the door. Sorry for not having a better pic this street lighting takes away from the ahhh experience. With this lighting you can faintly make out the Toyota letters. Need to install the passenger side next

Your axle should still be fine tho depending on how the splines look and check where the bearings we're running ... If the axle isn't scored you should be ok no?

I did nothing to my truck today. However, Darkness was kind enough to install a Yellowbox speedo correction device in my truck for me. https://yellr.com/ Man knows what he is doing, having done it on his own truck.

Install was a success. My speedo was off by about 20 percent due to 4.88 gears and 32" tires. It took several rounds to calibrate the Yellowbox's correction amount, but after doing laps in the parking lot of a local strip mall and a few passes down the freeway, we had it pretty much spot-on.

Thanks again, Luis. You're the man.

Total cost was under $150 and install should be less than 30 minutes. I'm excited. Will post it.

The bearing spun on the shaft and Damaged it and the retainer is cracked. It could be rebuilt but it’s not worth it to me to invest much in time or money in one of these axles.

With fuel mileage like yours no need! I think the injectors provided a 1 MPG gain in Highway Miles from 16 up to 17. City no change, but the shift points seem nicer with the gears holding longer.

I wonder if the summer blended gas is helping MPG? Seems mine ticked up a notch, but not much. My pedal response feels real good. Hot weather related?

Wish we knew exactly when the winter/summer blend switch occurs.

I do know the CerTec has made the already quiet 4.7L engine even quieter. It’ll be a few days before a hand calc on MPG.

Mine come in today. I need to figure out when I'll have time to get em installed. I wish I had a second vehicle so I could just leave the tundra at my mechanic's.

Check w. your mechanic - may have something you can borrow, might know of something decent another customer is selling. just don't spend the install money on a second vehicle - LOL.

Nice looking rig, how do you like that cap?
I've often wondered if those are simply stylistic, or day to day there's a benefit I'd appreciate.
I know it's taller, just wonder if you find yourself often glad for the extra height in back?
