That site sucks and it seems like they try to unnecessarily use freight a lot. Wanted to ship a CV axle via freight when other dealers ship them normally.

Serra Toyota has that skid plate for $135 shipped on their current sale:

Go price them at the dealers. If I take it to a shop and have them refoamed and recovered it'll be about 900. Just the lower seat foams from Toyota it's 748 bucks before shipping.

Toyota Parts Deal works as a dealer network and ships from a few different dealers. If you ever need to return parts for them it can become a headache. Their customer service is pretty poor. Ourisman or Serra Toyota during the 20% off deal has great prices IMO, and Ourisman's customer service has been good in my experience.

Looks like it more than double that for me. I’ll just buy it used instead.

I figured it out. I looked up your part number from your TPD post (51405-04010; this is a Taco part) on Serra to get that price. Your Serra post has the correct part number (51405-34010). For the price of that new skid plate from Toyota, Skid Row is only $70 more for a much thicker skid plate. But yeah, I'd look used. If you were closer you could have mine.

Man, given the situation with your truck I think I would have skipped that purchase and just rolled without a skid plate. Are you leaning towards keeping it a while longer?

I’ll continue to roll with it until I find a replacement or it rolls off a cliff and burns. :bananadead:

Ideally, if I could find a similar tundra that just needs a motor that’d be perfect as I could transplant the powertrain I have which I’ve taken good care of since new.

A skid plate is a worthwhile it since it limits salt intrusion into the engine bay.

My offer still stands to look at one down here if you ever want me to. There are 4 best gens in my neighborhood alone. Plenty of rust free options.

I’m not sure if it’ll cause registration or inspection issues having the older engine.

It would cause an issue if I move out of state where they still do emissions testing.
