What have you done to your 1st gen Tundra today?

Finally done. New inner tie rods(Moog )

OEM bellows, outer tie rods, lower ball joints, and hardware. Took me about two hours to finish this morning. Just went for a test drive and I must have done something right because my alignment seems to be pretty damn close. One thing I forgot to do was straighten and lock the steering wheel before starting. Seems like a non issue so far.

 

Meh, it's the new norm.

Today was the day for me too. Yoga Mat for the Old man. Just BallJoints though... and all the Mayzle do stuff, grease susp+driveline/Fluid film/deepcreep.
I red loctited them last time (5/26/23 SPK Economy ), didn't have to use any heat today to get them loose, so I did it again. A little bit of heat on the tie-rod and balljoint, no pullers just a few light taps.
Used torque specs today instead of UgaDugas.




Not even a year, and less than 5k miles. Notice that boot cracking?

 

That reminds me I need to order bellows. Probably hit up rock auto once my Toyota parts show up.

My rc buddy just bought it about 2-3 weeks ago. I hyped up the 1st gen so much he made the move after wrecking his 2gen Tacoma. It’s a bad ass build all the fab work was done by 80percentoffroad. The truck did great on the trail

 

Does downloading 239 updates to the scanner count?

Going to see if there are any codes from my letting the battery die.

 

Puttong on bash fab sliders. He def nailed dimensions. Running 75/25. Looks like welds are 836? Ill update once completed.

 

Got my Skid Row Transmission skid plate and cat guards installed today. These American made drill bits are bad ass. So much better than the gold DeWalt bits. The TEMO step bit is great too. Project Farm was right.




The angle is deceiving. The cat guards don't touch the frame.

 

Bumper is finally finished. Really pumped how it turned out.

 

All these neat mods you guys are doing, and all I'm doing is routine maintenance.

Thanks! The center portion is from coastal offroad. But the rest is all custom. Bought some DOM tubing. cut, bent and welded everything myself. It was a pretty fun project

Whered you go camping?

I bought an RC crawler a year or so ago and absolutely love having a toy to play around with when im out camping. I even try to find camp spots that have good RC crawling spots, haha

 

Wow! What a beauty! I'd love to get a makeover like that. If you're willing to share, what did you have to pay for the paint, grille and headlight housings? And any links to the grille, lights, and hood guard would be appreciated. I like the way your hood guard wraps around the top of the grille. Mine's due for replacement.

 

I love that color, if i ever get mine painted im leaning heavily towards a cement gray like that!
