Ya I just named the only Canadian beer I knew. It must be the Bud Light of Canada. :)

As for your question. I'm not the pro, but I'd probably wait until the end to try touch up. I have a feeling you'd just wax it off if you tried it before. That would probably be a good question for the "ask the detailer" thread. I never have good luck when trying to touch up my paint. It never lasts.

I think at that cost I'd rather either keep it on or remove it forever lol

After 60 miles hot as the atf gets o_O.. Still might put a external trans cooler do to rad and transmission lines and current problems with milkshake.

So you DID figure out how to get Trans Temp with the scangauge? Did you already explain how and I missed it? I know it was being debated recently.

I'm not familiar with the Scangauge. What else can it be used for on our trucks?

Molson is vaguely beer flavored water. Lol.

I'll post in the detailer thread when the time comes.

Todat I pulled off the winter tires, and did a quick inspection. Going to grease all the nipples when the ground dries out more. I also confirmed that I have the LSD.

I did discover my driver side rear shock boot is torn already. Pissed me off, I only put these shocks on last year. Looks like a clean cut so either the mechanic sliced it for some reason during install or it just separated. Not sure if I can replace it without fully removing the shock. Really dont want to do that.

Anywho, here she is back in her natural, filthy form.

@Outbound the boot isn't doing much for you anyhow. You would have to remove the shock to replace it, but their use is debatable.

One school of thought says they protect the shafts from dust, rocks and debris. Another school says they trap moisture and cause deterioration. All of the high end Fox/Icon/King/Etc do not use boots.

I follow a guy on IG that has 37's on this first gen. It's some crazy cool long travel build. 35's look so awesome on our trucks.

Wouldn't this be patch it or remove it? Seems a tear will be worst of both gathering & holding road debris & water.

We'll see I guess. I'll keep an eye on it. The boot is basically two pieces now, that fit together snugly. It's almost as if somone took a razor blade and cut around the circumference of the boot.

So after extensive ducking around, double cab sunvisors will not fit reg cabs without extensive work. So. Now I’m stuck with 80 dollars in sun visors. Oh well. The more you know, lol

Oh I have my tilt steering column now though

I also had an unsuccessful repair day. Pulled the TB off my Honda to clean the IACV but it is not coming clean. Have to order a new one and wait now, but on the bright side I found that my TB was missing a gasket.
    o_O how the hell???

As far as my first gen, considered getting nice floor mats.

Had a good Tundra day! Replaced the PCV valve and grommet, greased my u-joints, and topped off my diff. (Axle seal leak). The diff was actually pressurized when I pulled the fill plug out. Ugh.

    Nasty!
    1B2A7E35-823D-4013-B9B2-F85395F2D438.jpg

Also, I took another pic next to my dad’s truck. We’re both running 265/75/16 tires, I have a 2” lift, and he has a 1” lift.

    6D19C7B6-A4CE-4EC1-9798-7448D9231B2D.jpg

I measured the height, and my truck sits 2 whole inches higher. Doesn’t make any sense, especially since my truck has a broken leaf spring, and his has brand new springs and shocks.

But Dad has the weight of the cap on his ride.
(& apparently a sense of humor judging by the plate - LOL)

Clogged up diff breather? Time to change & if so time to change front & trans breathers too...?

works just fine with the scangauge thanks to @Darkness  post 4884 . Used for temps to ign advance, clear codes on the go there is a list online you can program into the unit.. Only thing i dont like is what the ultragauge has that is preset alarms example engine temp over preset temp it goes off and so on.. I have it in my tacoma works perfect.. If i had to choose between the two its up in the air. They both are good. Refresh rates on both are good.

Both will not replace say my snap on verus d 10 i have but all and all man they are worth it and a good investment.

The front and trans breathers are fine surprisingly. I actually just looked at those and fluid was leaking from them because the dealership didn’t clip them back in when they did the frame replacement, and they were just dangling by the motor mount.

I used to hate the stepside but it's really grown on me. Like a dog that's so ugly it's kinda cute lol. If I were to buy one I think I'd want it to be a 2wd manual 4.0L v6 model w/ stepside. I'd lower it, supercharge it, do a side exit exhaust (like a lightning) and call it a day.
To me, when it comes to lowered trucks it's all about uniqueness. I love seeing rare minitrucks like VW, Luv, Courier, Mitsubishi, Datson, etc
